RE: pintle
Wow...great pics Lee! Love to see that engine. Thank you!
Interesting how the exhaust exits on the top rather than the bottom like most other V8 configurations.
What a wonderful truck you have...can't wait to see it completed.
Re: RE: Fuel Prices
OK...I had to figure this out in gallons and US dollars:
$1.32/liter * 3.78541178 = $4.99CAD/Gallon. Exchange rate today was $.987CAD to $1.00USD, do that makes it $5.06USD/Gallon there.
So...officially: YIKES!
That is all.
cleb,
Remember...you get what you pay for. If you're set up for working on a large-ish truck and doing your own work, go ahead and get a lower priced one and party on! The lower priced trucks typically need more work than the higher-priced ones (not always, but this is mostly the case)...
Joey has a deuce for sale (southern Oregon coast)...I think he wanted less. PM "Joey" here and see.
Also, consider idaho motor pool. Good guys out there and not too far (just enough of a drive to be an adventure from Seattle). They are good guys out there who go through their trucks before...

Pics pics pics!!!
I wanna see under the hood, under the frame...all of it!
C'mon man...you're killing us.
I've been down this road...you can get them refilled, but it is hard to find and very expensive (a bit like trying to refill an R-12 AC system, only harder). Halon is still allowed for certain high-risk applications, but since it's not produced in large quantities any longer, it's very...
RE: Fuel Exploring!
$109.83 close today.
Crude prices nearing $110 on weak dollar even as crude and gasoline inventories are much higher than forecasts.

It's going to get worse...
Light, sweet crude for April delivery rose $3.02 to $108.17 on the New York Mercantile Exchange after earlier setting a new trading record of $108.17

I've done that a few times, but would rather spend my time doing something more interesting. If a machine can stamp it out in a fraction of a second, I'm buying it ready-made.
Yes, and last I checked he still had it. I don't think the truck was in WA though (although that's where he is from).
Send Todd (MilitaryRestoration) a PM and he'll hook you up.
gringeltaube,
Buenos días!
Very very cool! ¡Muy bien!
So, is there any reason why you did not use the upper hose connections on the HF54 box? Was there a clearance issue?
Do you have part numbers for the ball joints used on the drag link?
OK, after a frustrating 45 minutes at NAPA today, I have no joy on getting anything in the form of shims or gaskets for my PTO install on the deuce. Basically they couldn't cross-reference the Spicer 3053 transmission to get the proper gaskets. Basically "what vehicle is it out of?"...and it...
