    Copper or Plastic air lines?

The above comments are all appropriate. But.... I hate to admit it, but the plastic is best. It doesn't corrode, easier to run, and best of all, it doesn't work harden/fatigue and break. Like copper, it should be tied off and secured, but it will actually take quite a bit of abbrasion. Lee in...

    air cleaner question

The elbow modification is a good one!... But if any of you are really in the snow, for extended periods of time (like day after day), and its really important that your truck doesn't stop/filter doesn't plug, ie., like in some remote part of North America where your all by yourself....... The...

Where can I find one of these?

That still looks pretty heavy, mounted that high up. Looks like it could be mounted lower on that same rack. That would give you some leverage in lifting it in place. Lee on Alaska

    Silicone Brake Fluid

On the dash, and near the master cylinder there are "Cautions" that read: Caution : Add Silicone Brake Fluid only! MIL-B-46176 I have read here, others speaking on DOT 3 & DOT 5 brake fluid, but not Silicone brake fluid. Is this very common in the Deuce & other MV's with the juice...

    leaking speedo adapter HELP!

Seems like there is a little O-ring around the drive gear that comes out of the T-case. Its not the adapter. There should be only a little grease in it, if it hasn't been diluted by the lube. Replace the O-ring. Lee in Alaska

    Bolts

They are NF bolts. I was mostly able to re-use most of mine. The funny lock washers are sometimes a problem. I try to clean them first, before I try to remove them. I know, sometimes, that is not possible. I use never sieze, when they go back! The military had a re build kit. Try the vendors...

    towing M35 with M35

Towing a Deuce with another Deuce, and having the ability to stop it, in an emergency situation, is marginal, at best! In this State, (and I bet in most States), the law says that if the towed vehicle weighs 2/3's of the weight of the powered lead vehicle, it shall have brakes!I know a lot of...

5 ton hub & brake drum

They are often removed with a jack type carriage on creeper type wheels. You leave the wheel/wheels on, and just slide them off. Same going back on. I made a similiar type carriage, but without the jack part. I use a floor jack, under the axel, to adjust its hieght. I'll take a picture of it...

    Mississippi recovery gone BAD!

You were extremely lucky with the tow bar incident. Safety checks may seem elementry, but they're not something to be over-looked. So much heartburn, can be avoided by a good "pre-flight"! Lee in Alaska

    M818 questions...

RE: Re: RE: Re: M818 questions... Pin setting is not the only issue. Also check the distance from the pin to the landing gear. On some of the older trailers, that distance was quite short - OR - there was a bend in the trailers frame (like a goose neck), and when you truned the tractor, the...

A question for people with M37 and bobbed deuce.

RE: A question for people with M37 and bobbed duece. I've had an M-37 since along about 1970 & its still pretty much stock. It is an excellant vehicle, because of all its parts are pretty much balanced. It is limited by its gearing to a max of about 50, but they really mean about 40 MPH. The...

    Oil change woes w/pics

Doesn't that just simply annoy you!. I would like to come across the Gorillia that over tightens those plugs. They just have to be snug.
