    Dash pic/transfer case

I thought this thread might head towards the transfer case failure issue, seems to be some concern about it. For long hauls, I am at 55 mph. Desert, are you taking you case apart for repairs, or replacing it? Was yours a sprang or air shift case? If you are taking it apart, take plenty of...

    Dash pic/transfer case

I used the gps before and hit a high of 63 mph. Very short burst, just to check top speed. The speed is 1 mph off, I forget which way. I figure the tach is a little tight is all. Reads a little low I would guess. 2600 rpm should be 56mph, and 2800 is 62, I think.... I realize there is a...

    Dash pic/transfer case

Nope, just a regular deuce, got the pump turned up some. I can get a little more speed before the governor in the pump kicks in.

    Dash pic/transfer case

The joys of a camera phone and a heavy foot. This is top speed for me! And I am posting from a cell phone internet, sloooow... Dennis Changed the topic question since it is veering towards transfer case questions.

    help with willys

For what it's worth, my 46 willys has a timing gear, not chain... Looks like the same shape as mine, except mine runs. Not sure what it is worth. Dennis

    School Bus?

Okay recovery, you lost me on why 6.44 5 ton's. There was talk of shoving some deuce axles under the bus, not something I want to do! As for my ugly bus, it loves the gearing in it now. The bus engine is a good running engine, but impractical for swapping in anything. Pretty large...

    School Bus?

This thread gives me a excuse to blather on about my bus... I bought my school bus for 500.00. Had no reason to have one, but it was just out of service, and cheap. Knew the guy at the bus garage, and he cut me a good deal. Lots of mods have been suggested, right now it hauls my friend's...

    Got a diesel suburban...

How do you tell if IP pump is going bad? Dennis

    Got a diesel suburban...

Well my buddy does anyways... which means I get to fix it. 1990, 6.2L, 2wd, 1/2 ton, 700r4 tranny. So Dan, my fore mentioned buddy, has 4 boys, and a 5th on the way. So a larger vechicle was going to be needed. Also they are always hualing around extra kids. So a Suburban was mentioned, but...

what the Russions are doing COOL!!!

That is some seriously sloppy stuff. Looks like some swamp land. What is that hill mud? clay? I don't have anything that could handle that stuff. Dennis

    Deuce power steering conversion

Something I would like to do in the future to my truck. Nice work, and some good info. Dennis

    Set of M135 rims $?

I am looking at them for running singles. This isn't a "must have right now" thing, but will buy them if I find them cheap enough. May end up getting a whole truck, they seem to go cheaper than 95 a rim! Going to at least 1100, or maybe the xl's.

    Set of M135 rims $?

Looking at 6 M135 rims, with tires. What would be a fair price to offer? The tires may be good, but assuming they aren't. What is the difference in the offset compared to a M35 rim? Dennis

    Possible Jeep Project....

Could be a cj2a. Looks like a lot of work! See if if has the data tags on the dash, and under the hood on the fire wall. Very easy to look like a military jeep. Is there a windshield nearby? Split windshield is 2A. Dennis

    wheel cylinder

I rebuilt both front cyl's on the deuce. The were just starting to leak. Just a little rust in the bore. Bought a brake hone and used a lot of oil while honing. No leaks, and was pretty easy. Lot more time to get to the cyl. than actually rebuliding them. I think the it was part #45 at...

Who has turned up your fuel?

Mine is up, I was able to resist turning it up until I had a pyro installed. No idea how many turns it was, I turned it until I hit 1150 degrees on a long hill. Dennis

    Muffler Modification.

I am posting a pic here, someone was asking about my muffler. I just now got around to installing it. Just a quick pic, this thread has lost all the orginal pics. Sorry about the quality of the pic, only one I have at the moment. Can everyone repost their pics? This is a fairly common...

    Deuce brakes marginal?

I have locked the rears on my truck before. I can tell you that adjusting the brakes according to the manual makes a noticeable difference. I had a higher, more aggressive pedal after adjustment. I trust my deuce brakes a lot more than my international's full air system. The full air...

    Haspin Rally 2006

14th sounds good on my end. I vote for finding a more remote spot for the camp, too many people around the hilton. Would like to see an area roped off for our crew, hopefully on a dead end trail. Dennis
