RE: parts
Rob, ther're pretty much fubar'ed. One... *maybe,* and only possibly maybe.
Clem, that's the last rung is having new ones made and I've already spoken to several folks about that-
I guess Me, Myself, and I counted. Don't do what I do--
OH, if anybody has any of the hold down threaded 'T' pins and screw handles extra I'm looking for three of them- thanks
RE: parts
PAPERCU- Thank you! I've been on G/L tring to find stuff w/no luck. Rolled the dice and bought the information for the three different P/N parts I need from that other place. I tried the Grove P/N's on that site in all different ways but couldn't get anything to work with them...
RE: part
I have the Grove version of that which has everything exploded on one page...
Okay- Page 8, 10 & 11 on the PDF are the valves that I have the damaged end part. Part Numbers 7,8,9,10, & 11 are all around the part that I need...that doesn't have a part number listed.
Page 8 shows the...
RE: Re: chopped
So here are some pics of the bed on the truck! Got it all fried together today and bolted on. Once my crane is up again I'll be able to verify the swing and if my clearance is okay. If not to move it back a few inches is no problem and may facilitate the future dump plans for...
I've driven a deuce with the bed of and watched the rear suspension dance around, but does it actually 'swerve?' With the two lower links it should move side to side some but dead even.
RE: Re: chopped
Right on MadDawg308!
Good memory TiM- I've got a pump that was on my '53 REO when I got it. The ole Lamborghini will have to wait for another oil based project-- :)
I'm posting this in the '5-ton and up' forum because these parts were originally on an M977 HEMTT.
My problem is this: at some point the rack of valves that operates the M977's Grove crane must have been dropped and three of the four lower 'caps' that the hydraulic valves handles rotate in...
RE: Re: chopped
Hey Kenny, what do you mean 'chassis jig?' My wood blocks? They were part of unloading it from the utility trailer that got it up from the barn. If the big crane wasn't layed up, this would be gravy. I have to move it again tomorrow so I can get it to my welder. More fun.
Yeah...another gritty day. Managed to excavate the dropside bed from the bottom of the barn and decided it was a nice day to wreck it. Ended up with 96-1/2" front to back in the bed. Cut 50-1/2" out of it. Had posted a time ago a couple pics of the sides that I had shortened. Not welded but...
Yep, I've road tested it. My deuce with the M977 crane is prolly pushing 14,000+#'s now. That trailer is pretty heavy but my CAT1160 is 90hp over a stock deuce. It does okay pulling it but definately have to stay ahead of it shifting or it's slow to catch up. Trailer follows really well-
I did this on my M715 way back when it had Locked Dana's under it before the 'Rocks. I swapped in a dodge fine spline divorced NP205 (as the stock NP200's hadn't a PTO port + the 205's don't overheat) then got a Muncie PTO for it. Got the PTO from ptohydraulics.com, iirc. It's got 150' of...
If you're worried about it alot of people dump the rear axles for pretty cheap. All the chunks (center sections with gears) are the same ratio and will interchange. I put a Detroit Locker in a rear from a '53 REO then in several other that were much later than that and didn't notice any...
If you're okay with the look of the 1.25" extra length of the Ouverson units then there's no reason not to go with them. If you don't...go Selectro. Ouverson units are better sealed, allow full spline engagement of the outter shaft, don't have a plastic ramp thingy for engagement, don't have...
