he is talking about the supressor that is connected to the 24v positive and negative distribution blocks on the firewall. its sole purpose is to filter out noise from the power, so the radios would have a clean power source.
you dont need to lengthen the front drive shaft until you pass 6" of lift.
with moving the axle forward an inch, i would still think you could get 4" out of the stock shaft.
you lazy bum. just pull the pan already, is not like its hard.
you can even put a drain plug in the new pan before you install it, for no mess trans flushes.
pull the engine fan first.
also while the radiator is out, no would be a great time to change any worn belts out.
Flush the engine block as well. before you pull the old radiator, get a bottle of the cooling system cleaner, and run it in the truck for the recommended time. then pull the rad.
biggest difference in ride quality will be from a good pair of shocks. no matter the brand you get, get nitrogen charged shocks. Bilstein makes a great shock, I have also had great luck with Pro Comp shocks. I've never liked the quality of rancho shocks, as a company they arent what they used to be.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Small update on my truck.
if you still have the power to teh relay coming from the large resistors on the firewall, you will burn out the 60g's. the gp's on the cucv get 24v when they first come on and then the resistors drop the voltage to ~14v as they heat up. the 60g's...
RE: Re: RE: Re: Fuel Injection Pump Help
you will have hard starting when the engine is hot when the ip is starting to wear out, since the tolerences open up and the fuel is thinner at the higher temp. this will lead to loss of power and stalling.
It just doesnt look right.
Gimpy has ridden in my truck for ~700miles and he didnt complain about the ride. Stiffer than stock means you can actually feel the road.
For running the hmmwv rims, you need to get a set of 2" dually wheel spacers. Be sure to get the ones for the EARLY chevy/ford...
yes its the huge 4core. You can do without the oil cooler lines on the radiator, just mount an oil cooler behind the grill. If yours is far gone its prolly not worth the cost of a new core made of copper. Look for an aluminium 2 core, the cores on the alum. rad are much deeper and it will give...
FMJ your gonna kill that engine with revs that high.
I think that anything over a 38" tire is just gonna rob the low end from the truck. you'd have to put a trans with a lower first gear to get going. anything from a 36-38 would be a good size to drop the rpm's without sacrificing power. If...
