You're not running the stock radiator are you? I know I've looked at this before on my stock A2 and there didn't look like there was enough room to install a A3 hyd motor with the stock radiator.
I'm kind of with G on this. I'm worried this may damage your motor over time. There's going to be some end play on your winch shaft when switching from forward to reverse.
On the shear pin I personally would be comfortable letting the system relief valve do the job. To me one of the advantages...
Pinion brakes work ok for off-road but won't last very long at hwy speeds. I don't think you'll be satisfied with the performance of them for on-road use.
Blocks on the back can get you by although it's not something I'd do. Blocks on the front are a big problem and are illegal. The biggest problem I see with the back is the spring mounts look to be welded and undersized bolts.
I like the "custom" exhaust also.
Of all the bobbers I've seen...
Woody, Don't the motor homes have a special plate that is specific to them? I could be wrong but the only way that I've found to run a 5-ton tractor/trailer without going commercial is to run farm tags. If you have info to the contrary I'd be interested in it.
I once dropped a m105 tongue on the ground and lifted it up on the hitch by myself. I did it but my back didn't like it. Now I don't leave without the high-lift with me.
In TN, you can gross up to 80K (with air brakes) without a CDL if you run farm tags and do not cross state lines.
If a private individual in TN wants to use a truck over 26k their only option (that I know of) is either farm tags or commercial tags. You may can also get antique tags for a truck...
The reason you'll never see any more complete HMMWVs come out is the same reason they destroyed the M151s. They are deemed unsafe for the public to own and drive.
I've noticed a bunch of municipalities are getting surplus HMMWVs lately. Every town in my neck of the woods has gotten one. I...
:ditto:
I wouldn't waste my money on a 24v charger. Charging the batteries separately is much better on the batteries.
As long as both batteries are in the same state of charge you can get by with a 24v charger. If one battery is weaker than the other (which is often the case), you will...
Does anybody know or have dealt with a dealer in Eads,TN right outside Memphis? A buddy of mine is looking at one of this trucks and was wondering about him. He told him he deals in several trucks so I figure some of you HMMWV guys would know of him.
No brake system. I built me an adapter that changes the standard military plug to a civilian 6 pin for lights (I'm still running 24v bulbs). The Dodge has the Cummins and I don't even hardly know the trailer's back there. I only pull it loaded between farms on back roads. It does ok with no...
I got a tractor hauled from KS for $1.00 a mile and I thought that was a steal. 66 cents is unheard of these days but I guess it beats the driver going home empty.
I've towed several (more than I care to count) and my odds are about 25% that the towed truck will do something crazy. Not that I've wrecked or anything but some trucks just don't want to tow well. Granted, most of the trucks I've towed were parts trucks so that could have something to do with...
