you sure about that? looks like the lowest power rating is 160hp / 365ft-lbs and highest is 250hp / 675ft-lbs. looks like the average rating is about 200hp / 500+ ft-lbs. compared to the stock multi-fuel, how is that "barely" above 130hp / 305 ft-lbs??? (source)
while, i'm not a big fan of...
i don't know. there will be some here that say no. i'm just looking at the numbers. 350ft-lbs...
maybe? i actually haven't heard of the 53 blocks in commercial apps, but i guess they'd be there also.
you are mistaken in several areas:
my 12v cummins is already over 600ft-lbs and will be much closer to 800 when swapped in.
the nv4500 is rated for 460ft-lbs at 16,000 GVW, 21,000 GCVWR. while that may not sound like much, my rig will fall quite well within these specs. besides, this trans...
usually utilize either a reverser box or a flopped differential.
'boom' goes the transmission in the first bind...
tick-tock, tick-tock.....................'boom'.
ha ha, i don't really know. i'm sure the transmission would survive behind both engines if driven real conservatively or if...
yes - someone has lied to you. this statement probably came right after the statement that "Ford owns Cummins".
not your fault, people just like to make crap up.
that's about all i could find; seems any bus pre-'90 had the 6.9 or dt360, few w/ the 466. after, most were 7.3 and a good bunch were 5.9.
still, i can't find a mid-'80s truck (or even late '80s) w/ anything but an Int'l in it, or even listing anything else as an option... :?:
tough to say. best i can find is that they didn't start using the small Cummins until '91. and in '85, they had the 6.9, the dt360, and the dt466 as in-house options. with those options (and the latter two are arguably as good if not better than the 5.9 or 8.3 cummins), it doesn't make any sense...
no, they're not. only in F650/750's or F600-800's (older).
to answer the posted question, i want to say (w/out certain ascertation) mid to early 90's....?
1. i'm nowhere near an expert on the original stuff, buy my understanding is that all the ldt-465's are pretty much the same as far as overall design and reliability, regardless of manufacturer. the only thing you might want to get picky about is getting a 'TD' (thick deck) block - seems to be a...
i also seem to remember someone doing it recently. it worked, but i think it left a deep groove in the front bumper...
also, i would imagine it would work all that much better if you put as many snatch blocks as you have cable for on the rear end to alleviate as much strain off the live end of...
hard to tell from the first pic, but are the connecting rod cap bolts even in the connecting rod? its hard to tell, but looks like the bolts are AWOL? if the cap or one of the bolts went, they should be broken off in the con-rod.
they must be there. because if they aren't, that means they...
i'd take hydraulic over air anyday, even if it is just "assist". besides the pump, lines, and resevoir, what else are you missing that'd make it cost anywhere close to $1200?
i'd say go for it. even if it performed as well as the air kit (read: as weak as) you'd probably still gain...
thanks for the correction, Bruce.
given those facts, i also vote for the deuce-A3. i'm kinda mixed, but i think i am voting more against the 5 ton than i am voting for the -A3. if you do bob the A3, i think it would look a lot better if it was lifted w/ 16.00's on it. i may think that way...
i thought about that after i posted; i have zero experience with an A0 model because they were phased out so long ago.
nonetheless, what's the truck for sale - an A0 or an A1 model? doesn't look like an A0 and it wouldn't make sense for it to be a "2001" A0 model. something doesn't add up w/...
