RE: Re: RE: stalling now no start
wow, you beat me to posting a pic, thanks for doing that.
the civilian trucks dont have that pressure sender in the filter base, its not in the casting for them. that sender is used only for the STE/ICE military diagnostic equipment. if its leaking you can...
before you bother with anything else, check the ground connection for the sending unit. its on the inside of the framerail, at about the middle of the tank. it comes through a hole in the frame and there is a star washer and a bolt that secures it to the frame.
they are ~9" wide
and have roughly a 7" backspacing.
to use them on a cucv pickup you must run a 2" spacer to get the rims out far enough that they dont hit the tierod casting on the knuckles.
RE: 31
both interstate and deka make them, any real auto parts store should be able to get them for you. I have a battery warehouse in my neck of the woods that stocks them.
Re: RE: stalling now no start
his issue is not with that part of the injector pump, but with the sensor on the back of the filter base itself. I will take a pic of the spare base that i have. also to replace the filter, just unhook it, and put a wix/cat filter base on the fire wall, then hook...
thanks for the props, and i used a airosol vinyl dye i got at the local auto parts store.
comes in a bunch of colors, I used flat black. I can get the maker when i get home, i think i still have the can.
your windshield seal could be the cause of the leak, how does the gasket look?
as much as a pain it is, you might want to pull the dashpad to check (its not really that bad.)
you need the later era truck, the earlier ones use a different seal type for the hydraulic hoses.
and the early ones had a different spline size/count on the top where the steering shaft connects.
Re: RE: Re: Fun day with the Blazer (rant)
that is a very common starter body (28mt) and i have not heard of issues with the nose cones, but if yours cracked (perhaps due to a missing/loose brace) i could see it missing teeth and giving you other issues. Mine has worked for years (when rebuilt...
RE: not that bad...
I got my kit from northwest fab, and couldnt be happier. plus they are great to talk to if needed.
I also purchased there ARP stud kit, since they are rated MUCH stronger than the factory studs. (180,000psi iirc)
