    Possible M1008 For Sale

RE: Re: Possible M1008 For Sale without engine, I would say that truck is worth ~$1800 to $2200 Its got a nice body on it and the axles themselves are worth $1200

    Another Alternator problem

it seems like you have a huge draw on the 12v system in the truck, like a dead short. Check the connections around the alternator and that distribution block on the firewall for shorted wires. Installing a tach on the M1009

RE: Re: Installing a tach on the M1009 well, the governor is supposed to be set at 3600rpm, but i have heard that some of the trucks got IP's that were set at 4200rpms.

Switched M1009 from 24V to 12V, Voltmeter doesnt work.

the military put a 12v gauge in the cucv, there is a ceramic resistor on it that drops the 24v to 12v so the gauge displays correctly.

Installing a tach on the M1009

once installed you need to tune it so its accurate, also if the belt slips it will be off. but as installed should get you close enough to to worry about it.

Switched M1009 from 24V to 12V, Voltmeter doesnt work.

yes, just remove the resistor and all should be fine. if you download the unit tech manual it will have the wiring schematics and you will be able to trace the wires from the volt meter to where they connect to the charging circuit.

    deuce generator vs alternator

I found a half a Banks Turbo kit for my 6.2!

ken, could you snap a picture of how your lines are, I'd like to see that. If i had pulled the factory lines and rebent hard line, I might have been able to make it work, but would have been in the way of the engine fan. I ended up going with dual electric fans @2600cfm ea. I have no cooling...

    Intermittent Steering problems

the steering fluid leaking by the brake pedal would be the hydroboost correct, and this may cause some steering issues simply because of the pressure drop due to the leak, but thats more of a byproduct of the braking issue. since the problem is intermittent, it could be something blocking a line...
