I still have the vehicle I used to transport paperwork from battalion HQ to base HQ back in the early 80's! It was green then and has since been restored.
Since we didn't have the budget for the duty driver w/ M151 at HQ. My '70 Monte Carlo regularly sat in the duty driver spot in front of HQ...
Ambu is an automatic, while it's a t case PTO, nothing happens without the transmission turning. Yes wrecker PTO runs with T case in neutral, I was thinking moving the truck while dumping (like a real dump truck).
I'll see if I can get a pic with my POS camera.
I don't know the designation of the T case PTO, other than a PTO for a NP203 transfer case.
Not sure how well the PTO would work for a dump as mine (for winch) is controlled by the transmission & the t case would have to be in neutral during operation.
the Mopar trak-lock differential is a...
Having driven a M886 for about 5 yrs with the cross.
I'd say its the chrome.
Drive it in a veterans day parade or Memorial Day parade before you loose the cross.
I prefer to use the unit #'s it had.
Althought the truck id is sometimes changed to HQ #.
Regarding having bumper markings vs not.
In my experience, I get the same reactions from people both ways.
The average person just doesn't notice bumper markings.
Yet, in my town, the military could roll...
Been there, seen that.
Will be there & see that again on http://www.steelsoldiers.com/upcoming-events/39512-camp-grayling-annual-fall-color-tour-9-25-9-27-a.html]9-26
There is a strip of wood between the bed and frame to absorb movement during frame flex.
Maybe we should describe the frame movement as twist. The point of maximum twist is centered between the front axle and the center of the rear supension. The amount of twist decreases to nothing as you move...
WTF? vibration?
The spring mounts on the front of the bed were engineered because the frame flexes between the front & rear axles during off camber situations off the highway.
Now on a bobbed deuce the flex would be less due to the removal of the rear most axle and well over a ton of weight...
1. yes & no, the rotations are different on the 75-77 4wd vs 2wd, so while a 2wd unit will bolt up you will turn right when the wheel is turned left
2. 75 to 77 4wd are direct replacement (steering box)
72 to 93 {either 2wd or 4wd} can be made to work, by replaceing more than just the...
There are 4 deuces in my neighborhood!
all mine! bwahahahahahhahahaha....................
really need to loose that bidder id & password, maybe even have a big clearance sale
ODD {Olive Drab Diesease} there is no cure, arghh........................
Sure it will offend purists, but they don't own your truck, you do.
Besides M880 series truck purists are far & few between.
pick below of one of mine, only mods are a civi receiver hitch, an inline fuel filter and humvee tires.
It may be low on power but will push through bumper deep mud & snow :-D
