    Tire shopping

You're right about the mud. That was one of the times I put the BFG Mud Terrains on my truck. It was a 1008 that I knew would be spending alot of time off road, it was my hunting truck. They seemed to work well. I'll try and find a picture of it. They make a little more noise than the...

    Clare, Mi pics

Dave, didn't get to meet you. I was watching for a guy pushing a stroller too. Met a few other members though. They were all great guys, and I had a good time. Look forward to attending future events. Nice pictures too. Glad you got one of my 1009 since I never did take any pics. Took some...

    Finally pics of my deuce

Well, one thermocouple is better than none. My thinking is 2 would help to narrow down a problem if the engine egt became hotter. With the plenum in the manifold you are only measuring egt for half the engine. If you are putting one in, drill and plug a hole for a second as long as you have the...

    Diablo Build Update (pics)

During the restoration process it seems like you'll never see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it does come! Keep up the great work!

    Tire shopping

Armada: What kind of lift do you have? J, I have a Superlift lift kit (front springs, rear blocks, polyurethane bushings) iirc from National Tire and Wheel (1-800-847-3287). With 2 inches of lift, nothing else needs to be modified. With 4+ inches of lift, you need to change out more parts...

    Finally pics of my deuce

Yup, adjust the brakes up at each hub and it should take care of the problem. It's easy to do, the wheels can stay on. Consult the TM. [thumbzup] Nice looking truck!

    Bridge Plate Yellow?

I bought a rattle can from the napa automotive store. Nothing special, it was called school bus yellow. The plate on my duece was originally yellow but was painted green at some point. The back side of the green numbers were still yellow though, so I painted the plate and mounting hardware and...

Which paint for my 72 Deuce?

You guys are right. The M1009 looks browner in the sunlight than it actually is. Also, it takes a couple weeks for the color to 'settle' after painting. The picture I posted was taken just a few days after it was sprayed, and the brown has toned down since then. I also used Gillespie red oxide...

    M543A2 doin a little work

Cool pics. It's great to use the trucks for actual work. How can the wive's complain about them sitting in the yard? It's a tool, not a toy. :)

Which paint for my 72 Deuce?

I'm painting my duece 24087 also. It's been all repainted except for the cab, (too many other projects). I like the look of the 24087. In fact I like it so much that I painted my M1009 and M101A1 with it too.

M1009 Weatherstrip - Where to get it.

Be careful with LMC. From personal experience they use alot of 'foreign' made parts... I guess what isn't these days, but the fit is sometimes way less than desireable. I got an inner cap seal from them that goes between the cap and the cab, and it was 5 inches too short. There have been other...
