Sorry, no pics. I pulled off a short 'harness' from my 1009 that runs from the postive bus bar to the negative bus bar on the firewall in the engine compartment.
It's about 3-4 inches long and has an eyelet for mounting each end to the bus bar. It's almost like a ground strap, but there are 3...
Nice saw Blake! Did you restore it or did it come to you in that condition? Can't believe someone would not bother to pick it up!!!
As long as we're showing saw pics, here's one of my Husky. This was from last deer season. Had a blizzard in the Mich. U.P. and it took a good couple days of...
Quick response.... I don't recommend it for a first truck, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th truck either. That rig is somebody's Frankenstein!
For a few dollars more you'll be able to get yourself something you can work with. You don't want to spend ALL your enthusiasm working on it, you want to be able to...
RE: chainsaw
My gramps had some kind of big man-eater saw too. Seems like it had something like a 5 foot bar. Big ass engine on one end with a handle on the other end for soldier B. The 2 guys it took to operate it needed to be built like a brick $hit house too, it weighed a ton!
HOLY CRAP   Did the FD hose the load out of your pants for ya?!?!?
Yeah, could have been waaay worse. You didn't have much momentum left by the time you hit. With any speed and the weight of that truck, you'd have made a drive through for them.
Nice looking truck by the way. Did...
I believe all GM diesel pick-ups had the openings in the bumper, not just the duallys.
Selfridge AFB has a couple of the '3rd generation' cucv's running around too. They look sweet.
Sounds like a good project Kenny. It would also look more at home with your motorpool.
That's exactly what it is.
You can kinda see one in this pic next to the steering column. I relocated mine up front next to the compressor, and I can access it for refills from the side cover without raising the hood.
Do you have a coiled up piece of copper line hanging off the compressor?
Congrats Ronnie! Thats a clean 1009!
Chris, when your voltmeter was acting funny before it quit, what was it doing exactly? Needle bouncing, reading low/high, not at all?
Nice work! I like the heavy duty pintle. I'd like to get my intake pointed up too. When snow piles up on the fender it plugs it. You'll be able to drive underwater in stealth mode!
RE: Here
That looks real nice Brian. Man I wish I had room for more green stuff!
A portable generator and an AC unit and you're in business! Is Dave going to pull it for you with his tractor?
