I've got one houdel that I'll probably be selling later this spring. Picked it up from GL. I only bought it for the dropside bed. I'm taking it off and putting it on my other truck and putting a standard box back on. Drove it home from GL. It is currently licensed. Starts great in cold weather...
I agree Kenny. With everything in low, it just churns itself along.
My only change would be something on the winch to keep the cable stacked on the spool correctly, like what the big wreckers have I think. It can stack up in one spot too quickly, pinch, and shear the pin. Especially when you...
Hey Chuck, Got to use my winch this past weekend. Took the trailer out to bro's house to pick up the cab, and, well.... the ground was a little soft,..... alright, a lot soft... :) Sunk it to the pumpkins. I used his duece as an anchor on the road and hooked my winch to it, and the truck...

Don't forget the handymans secret weapon...... DUCT TAPE.
I carry an inline 24v fuel pump with a couple of rubber hoses and clamps in case the main pump goes out beyond the replacement of a fuse. Headlights too, those dam things never last long. A tube of RTV.
Also on real long trips, I carry...
Heres a bit of info that might come in handy.
Over this past year, I have seen 3 CUCV's at the DRMO that have all had broken/cracked t-cases. The last one I picked up had this problem. I was talking to the trans shop about this, and he said it is usually caused by the front drive shaft spline...

The gages and thermocouples and wires were from Hewitt. They even gave me gage bulbs to change from 12v to 24v.

They were very helpful.
