If you want to check yourself, the formula is- Pie (3.14) X the radius (20") squared X the height (72") divided by 231 (the number of cubic inches in a gallon).
This is what I was thinking. I don't think you have a fuel problem as much as you do a governor problem. What were your RPMs when you were going 75mph? Like Barrman, I tend to think you were above redline.
I live "off the beaten path" and am still on dail-up. Having the pics that way is a lifesaver for me. It makes the thread open alot faster and if I see a pic I want to enlarge, i can just click that one and not enlarge them all.
Neither one will fit in a deuce without some major mods. Both are way bigger than what's in there.
I'd suspect you have some length issues also between the engine and t-case putting a 10 speed in a M818.
Aluminum can be unsanitary. Aluminum scratches very easy (you can get small scratches from just cleaning the tank). These small surface scratches can harbor bacteria. This is why I was told aluminum is not used in food processing plants. They use Stainless for everything.
I haven't had any experience with CARC other than trying to remove it (which is enough to make me not want to use it). I have used Gillespie quite a bit and really like it. Unless you're one of those people that want everything "correct" down to the paint, I see no reason to go with CARC.
I agree. The only thing a locking cap will do is keep people from dumping something down into your tank. If I was going to steal fuel I'd just punch a hole or take the drain plug out and let gravity do the work.
I haven't had any personally stole from me but it's getting pretty bad around here. Most of the time they will just poke a hole in the bottom of the tank and drain it out. Not only do you have your fuel stolen but you've also got to repair your fuel tank.
Scrap and fuel thieves have been...
Do you have a pyro and boost gauge installed? A pyro is a must when you go to turning up the fuel. The best you can do is to turn it up until your EGT starts to get out of hand and then quit. It's hard to tell by just looking at the smoke comming out of the stack.
I'd say by turning your truck...
Saturn has the PTO listed on their site for $250. Not bad IMO.
You can fab up all the linkage to shift it fairly easy if you don't care about it being stock. I put a PTO on my uncle's deuce for him. He didn't have the linkage so I fabed up a lever and the rod that goes from the lever to the PTO.
Those numbers aren't really unrealistic with water injection. The water injection will increase boost and also keep the EGT down.
Now if the mutifuel can hold up to that kind of boost long term is still up for debate.
As cheap as PTOs are, I'd just pick up another one and save that one for parts. Saturn has them for $250 on their website. You'll quickly go past that amount with custom bearings and/or machining.
