My water pump went out today. I was letting the truck warm up before heading out and noticed a rattle toward the front of the engine. I opened the hood to find the fan wobbling badly. I shut it down before the fan ate the radiator. The shaft has about a half inch of side to side free play but...
I bought a truck from GL one time that had the records laying in the seat when I picked it up.
Another GL truck I bought came from a NG base just down the road from me. I went to them to see about getting the records. They said "we threw all that stuff away when we turned it in to DRMO". I'm...
It is a fact that it takes more energy than it produces to crack water. It doesn't matter if your alternator is "maxed out" or not. It could work if you could get a "free" energy source as solar to do the work.
Even if you could use something like solar power to produce HHO it still seems like...
I'm pretty sure all the negative comments we're meant to keep somebody from spending a bunch of time and money on something that will not work for intended purpose. Call it whatever you want but if in the end it keeps somebody from wasting time and money, I'd say they did a good thing. 2cents
I will say that I've not had any luck with Harbor Freight tools that do pulling, pressing, or impact tools (such as punches and chisels). They always bend or break.
I always just use a vice and an assortment of different size sockets to install u-joints. A torch and a hammer works great for...
With GL trailers going for $150, I wouldn't think the axles would be worth much. I'd save the springs though. They will bring a couple of hundred for somebody doing a bob job.
They are required to show DL at the scrap yard here in TN also. There are a couple of yards that don't do it though...
Aboonski, That tank is nothing like I've seen. I've got a M149A2 and the tank is nothing like yours. If the outlet is aluminum I'd suspect the rest of the tank is also. There's no way to weld aluminum to stainless.
Push buttons are known to melt down. I had one in my truck and it melted. I won't use another for fear of burning my truck to the ground.

I don't use sealer. I don't think it would hurt anything but it would make for a mess because you will more than likely have to install/remove several times to get the backlash right.
While this would work to remove a broken bolt, I don't think with the shape of the end case and the bolt location you'd ever be able to get it into a EDM. I don't think you'd have a clear way to run the wire.
Heat will help but be careful. It's hard to tell when you've heated AL too much...
I found this info in the "Fortney Welding Manual". Acetylene- 5800deg, Natural Gas- 5025deg, LP- 5200deg. It list Mapp gas with a BTU of 2250 but doesn't give temp. It does say Mapp is the next best thing to acetylene.
LP is more stable but it doesn't burn as hot as acetylene.
Of the most widely used torch fuels, acetylene burns the hottest and is why it's the fuel of choice. Mapp gas is the next best thing with LP comming in third.
LP will work fine but you might have to go with a bigger tip and/or turn...
This thread reminds me, I saw a setup at a trade show a few years back that used gasoline instead of acetylene. The guy doing the demo made it look like it worked very well. I don't have any idea how it would work in the real world though.
plasma is real nice but there are still some things a torch just works better and is more handy. It's hard to heat rusted bolts and such with a plasma cutter.
I haven't heard there was a shortage. It's been about a month or so since I've bought any though.
It doesn't work as well but you can change your tip and regulator and use propane if you have to.
Check here- http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/7948-winch-shear-pins.html?highlight=winch+shear+pins . There's pretty much anything you want to know about winch torque and shear pins in this thread.
I will say that unless you are wanting to go with some sort of massive very high GPM pump, You...
Bottom line is that GL doesn't care. They've already got their money from the sale. I can't really blame them for not wanting to give you the buyers contact info. I wouldn't want somebody calling GL and getting my info.
Your best bet is to try your best to contact the person's name that's on...
