I'm not going to deny your credentials but I'm pretty sure this is not correct. I know for a fact that you do not have to run apportioned tags. A matter of fact they will pull your apportioned tags if you do not report out of state miles in any given year. If you primarily travel in-state only...
They do make electric over hyd brake actuators. Do a google search and you'll get many results. They convert your electric brake controller signal to apply hyd brakes. All you would need to do is remove all of the air brake portion and put the hyd controller in it's place.
I pull a unmodified...
I've got Autometer boost and pyro gauges in my truck. They work fine but if I had it to do over again I'd go with the Turbocator just because of the ease of installation with having two gauges in one.
Just about any name brand gauge will be fine. I question some of the cheap foreign gauges sold...
I took a look at the -10 TM. It is a two section pump. I'm having a little trouble figuring out how the system is setup though.
The way I understand it is the #2 lever is only used to control high and low speed. If that's the case, what it's doing is combining both pump sections to double your...
I'm not very familiar with how a M920 is set up but I'm fairly sure it's a open center hyd system. Do you have separate spool valves for the winch and the hoist? I'm wondering how you have it setup to control each separately.
I've also used an old broom handle in a pinch. Sometimes you have to "machine" it with some electrical tape or pocket knife to get it to fit just right. :grd:
I learned the hard way painting a tractor that if the metal surface is too cold, it will cause a "CARC like" texture.
I also think if you could adjust the gun to give the same effect as over-spray it could work. I'm thinking you could accomplish this by first putting a good coat (or coats) of...
Alot of people seem to be under the misconception that the alternator gets a "free ride". While it is true that you normally won't notice a power drop from the alternator, it is robing power from the engine if it's turning. It is taking more power to run the alternator than you are producing...
These old trucks tend to slobber out the exhaust if they are run for long periods idling or under little or no load. It could also be as stated above if you got water down in there. If it's a whole bunch it could be cause for concern though. I doubt it would be rings going bad. All that would...
I've got a campsite with a camper on it on the Tennessee river (Kentucky lake). I went down there yesterday and moved everything out. They are saying that Kentucky lake will break a record at 372" above sea level and will be within 18" of the top of the dam.
I just looked in the -34 TM. The TM calls for .005" end play on the shaft. Add or remove gaskets to get the correct end play.
Personally, I wouldn't fool with the dial indicator. Just adjust it where you can feel a little movement in and out when you turn the shaft back and forth.
You'll need to set your end play. When I put my winch back together I used RTV. When I tightened the bolts the winch locked up. I ended up having to use two gaskets (that I made myself) to get the winch to turn freely. You may can get by with using RTV but the bearings were too tight on mine...
Honestly, it's kind of a site that not everybody knows about. I really don't want to advertise for them. People that go and bid there will know what site I'm talking about.
If it's going to be a problem, I'll just delete the thread.
I just broke down and signed up at another auction site that "deals" in government surplus ;-) (I'm being purposely vague to stay within the site rules).
I've searched their site and this one too but I can't find an answer to my question. Do they go by the "15 minute rule"?
Shifting a synchronized trans without a clutch is hard on the synchros. If you do this enough it will get hard to go into any gear (clutch or not) because the synchros are shot. I've seen young kids get a new diesel pickup and think it's cool to play "big truck driver" and not use the clutch...
