Any AGCO dealer can get you parts.
I am very familiar with Allis engines but are usure of which ones you are talking about. If you had a engine number I could give you more info.
Since you don't have a FDC sounds like either your IP is leaking internally or the flame heater. I'd check the flame heater first just because that's the easiest and cheapest thing to do first.
Does the t-case PTO in question have anything attached to the shaft already or does it just have the shaft sticking out? I've seen the PTO have a 4-bolt flange, a u-joint yoke, or a sprocket. If you have the 4-bolt flange it makes it very easy to attach a sprocket, pulley, or whatever.
Yea, I don't remember the exact rating but it's well over 6k. A medium towbar will break before the hitch does. I've seen several broken/bent towbars but I've never seen a broken hitch on a deuce.
I talked to my local independent welding supply about this a couple of weeks ago. He claimed this is all a Airgas problem and Airgas is trying to make people think that the shortage is industry wide. He said he had all the acetylene you want and his supplier said there is no shortage on their...
Here's a couple of quotes from the link posted- "CARC is essentially a low gloss version of automotive-grade polyurethane paint." and "Most of the components of CARC are not unique; almost any polyurethane paint contains them."
So the bottom line is, while it is hazardous it's really no more...
Well you will be over the data plate GVW but within the axle weight laws in TN. You are allowed 54,000lb on the M817 as far as axle weights are concerned. A M817 with 15tons on it will gross about that. That's also why I qualified my post with "personally" because I wouldn't be afraid of that...
Personally, If they were close to me I'd pick them up for $1,500 each. They are rough but there is $2K or more worth of parts there each.
On a side note, If you want them you better get them ASAP. You just posted the location, price, and pics of them in a public forum.
The winch on the truck in question isn't like any winch I've ever seen on a wrecker. All the 45k wrecker winches I've seen were 45K Tulsa winches. I'm not saying they didn't put Garwood winches on the rear of some 5-ton wreckers but I've never seen one.
On gaskets that don't see extreme heat like head gasket, manifold gaskets, and such I like to use a product called Indian Head gasket shellac. Do not put Indian Head on gaskets that you plan on removing anytime soon though. That stuff will glue the gasket to the mating surfaces like you wouldn't...
You didn't get it hot enough. Heat that sucker cherry red and it should come loose.
I've had to do this before and they always come loose after heating. The nut will be ruined for reuse though.
I've used copper coat on all kinds of gaskets. I don't know if it helped or not but it hasn't hurt. None of the gaskets that I used copper coat on leaked. I have put them on dry before and they leaked.
What about all this mess I keep hearing about needing a CDL for anything with three or more axles (regardless of weight) in CA? I have no idea about CA law but there are several threads on this topic.
