For future reference, It's bad to post an auction link (especially if you're bidding on it). While we all like to think of everybody around here as friends, they will snatch a truck out from under you in a heartbeat. Posting a link is just advertising for more competition.
You need to do some research and look up the term "wet stacking". Running too big of generator for the load is almost as bad as running one too small over time.
You would be better suited with a smaller generator to run your house. A smaller unit would solve your towing problems, not to...
A guy in the Army told me that to never get into a Blackhawk that wasn't leaking hyd oil, because it's out.
Don't know how true it is but it's kind of funny. :D
I've pulled a M105 countless miles with My 3/4 ton Dodge. I've added a modified higher hitch on my Dodge so it pulls level. Empty, I can't even tell it's back there. I prefer the M105 over the M101 behind my Dodge just because of the extra bed space.
You could but off road capability would suffer. You won't have nowhere near as much articulation between axles as you do with the stock setup. In civilian trucks you won't see air ride on trucks that see much off road work such as dumptrucks and log trucks.
I just got two M101A2s loaded at Ft. Campbell Tuesday so that policy isn't in effect at every site.
Ft. Campbell started putting "buyer loads" on alot of their lots. I asked the site guy why and he said he started putting that so they wouldn't be obligated to load but still would if they...
That's how I do it. You've got to have good aim though. You want to hit it right where the wheel meets the tire at the proper angle. Don't know how to tell you what the "proper angle" is other than after you do a few you will figure out what angle works best.
The front mount is pretty robust and keeps everything in line.
The side slope deal depends on how many height control valves he has. Most OTR trucks have a single height control valve mounted in the center and it contols both bags (same pressure in both bags). Off road this could cause...
While I haven't had a multifuel apart, I can't help but believe that a multifuel wrist pin is bigger in dia. than a nickle. I don't think thats it.
Best thing to do is pull the pan and have a look.
I think what mudguppy is trying to say is just because a engine has more CID doesn't necessarily mean it has more torque. Torque accually has more to do with stroke than it does with bore. When you try and compare a 1960 engine (multifuel) with any modern engine there are a bunch of factors that...
Gimpyrobb had a good thread with lots of pics that pretty well walked you through the process.
My favorite tool for breaking the bead is a duckbill hammer. There are several different tools for this and some people like some better than others. Lots of soapy water on the bead area helps a...
The more I look at the pic I took, The holes aren't off as much as it looks in the pic. It appears the pic is centered on the stock plate and the "modified" plate is shot at a angle (I'm not the best at taking pics). The holes were accually moved to where one hole is almost between the two...
Well, I had another parts winch so I pulled the shaft out of it but it was rusty around the sealing surface (and everywhere else) so I figured I better not use it. The original shaft doesn't have any signs of twisting but the something is definately out of adjustment.
Since I didn't have a...
Clinto, If I understand the OP right he's talking about the engine (not the turbo).
If you are in fact talking about the engine, if the data plate isn't there I don't know how you tell for sure. Most of the "C" engines I've seen have a different flame heater than the "D" but that's not always...
All of the site people I've dealt with have been great (although they could be a little easier with the forklift). The main office in Arizona is a different story. Most of the site people won't come out and say it but they aren't very happy with the way Arizona does things either.
I just...
Most of the trucks I've had had a mis-match of both. I think when they changed the wheels and tires in the military they just put on what they had without regard to the style of wheel.
