The future of the M939 series.

RE: M900 I believe we will see a pile of them in the future. Dealers like Schott's in Maine, and elsewhere, have begun to deal in them, granted at kinda high prices. But that's the tip of the iceberg. A lot will go to friendly countries (hopefully in SALES and not in GIFTS). But with tens...

Can I post about an ebay sale?

I don't know, lots of good parts there. I'd say it's worth it for the axles and the leftover parts, the rest can feed blast furnaces.

Shuts off when i step on gas

Check for a crimped or kinked fuel line somewhere. Sometimes, if only a little fuel is needed, it runs, but step on the gas pedal, and it stalls out. I had a pickup and two deuces like that.

    90W gear oil as fuel?

If I am changing my gear oil in the axles, can I use the old gear oil (filtered of course) as fuel in the deuce? I wouldn't use it as strong as 50/50 with diesel, just a gallon or two at a time.

New canvas top on the Mite!

BFR - yes and no. The bolt hole patterns are the same, but the wheel is slightly different. So, you can interchange. Mike - looking good! Just to let you know, I did, at one time, have an original Marine Corps jerry can that was specifically made for the Mite, it was all aluminum and dated...

Took my Deuce to the scrapyard!

Glad to hear that, westfolk. I'm not against scrapping things, just hate to hear when a good truck, or a good ANYTHING, has been reduced to pieces before it really was ready. Scrapyards are great for getting rid of a lot of really worthless stuff, turning junk into a usable material, and...

    1961 - 800 Series 5 - Ton found in Iraq

But try to remember where he is. Maybe it's easy to find parts here in the states, from junked trucks and rigs in the DRMO system, but maybe the logistical system is no longer supporting the parts and part numbers he needs in the Middle East. The military is planning on phasing the 800 series...

Picking up an m108 wrecker this week

There's a beautiful M60 wrecker on mseriesrebuild.com, one of his customers. I believe it was in MVM as well.

Took my Deuce to the scrapyard!

Joe, you DO know this website is about saving OD Iron, right? ;) Man, you make wreckerman seem tame... Are you scrapping them all because your quarry uses trucks up that fast? I know rock is hard on ANY truck, but wow, that's a lot of trucks and trailers there that met their end in the rock...

Took my Deuce to the scrapyard!

RE: Took my Deuce to the srapyard! Wow, that's a lot of metal. I see the rear end of the truck sagging a little under the weight. You sure there wasn't a use for that maintenance body? Looks okay from here...

    M37s and their trannys

Re: RE: M37s and their trannys Well, I knew that! I just meant you had to push the clutch in twice to shift it. But your answer helped, I think what you're saying is from 1st to 2nd you have to push the clutch medal in twice to shift (once when shifting out of gear, once when putting into...

    M37s and their trannys

ShieldWolf37 told me that his 1951 M37 has a double clutched transmission. He said that this was normal for manual shifting vehicles of the day. My question is: did the later M37B1 have double clutched trannys, or did they have a single clutch?
