well the M35 your top speed is around 55 MPH and the M54 is around 52 (most say around 45-50) because the trans is not the over drive unit. The 5 ton will be a lot slower off the line and top speed will be lower. Now for the good, the M54 will have power steering, the brakes feel and work much...
you can hook up glad hands to supply the 5 ton with air so the brakes will work....lights you will have to have make something work...... speed don't think your going much faster then 45 mph.. I have towed a 5 ton behind my deuce and it was ok.. what would help you is have some weight in the bed...
I use 15-40 whatever.. oil is oil in a old diesel like that.. now if you were running a turbo I would stick to a over the road truck oil to handle the turbo temp. But if oil is on the shelf at a auto parts store its good enough to run. remember there are not too many people making oil, but lots...
really? ah.. well a different trans and a t case, front axle, springs, prob would be ezer to just get a 4x4 . I mean you could make it but a 2WD frame is not the same as a 4x4 its going to be a fab job
you know I should send him some flowers.. I have been picking on him a lot, Kenny too. I guess I just miss all you guys and have not been able to go to any SS events. I'm saving so when I get out I will be able to hit all the events for a year.
hell yeah.. just skuff it up and go.. I had a plow truck I spray bombed and it was holding up 4 years later no prob.. its all in the prep work.. wash sand/skuff wash again and paint.
well you could roll it on but really its going to look like ****. you will need to wash and at least skuff up the old paint. it would be cheaper to just get 19 cans of spray paint (yes its 19 for the blazers and 21 for the pu's) and do it that way. if you just want green get some $2 a can spray...
I have one... A joy to drive with power steering, good brakes and more power then a deuce. My deuce was a lot faster then my 813 but the 813 will hold its speed better (does not slow down to a crawl on the hills)
and for the 2ed time pushing/pumping the "gas" on a diesel engine will do NOTHING. The best thing to do is install a push button as stated above. Its really ez and use the search function and you will find everything you need to do the install. It cost about 10 bucks and will never let you down...
