could be a collapsed rubber line. that will allow the fluid to go to the wheel cylinders but not return. crack the lines working your way from the master to the wheel cylinders and when the brakes release that will tell you where to start looking.
I get around 8/9 MPG in my 813. It has a brand new engine in it. I keep it about 2100 rpm and I think thats around 50/55 MPH. Even with my Honda in the back I was still getting around 8/9. In the Cummins it seams to do really well if you keep her ez and not push it really hard.
ok.. so with 11:00 tires and my Multi pushing 2800/2900 RPM I can Just squeak under 70 MPH. With 9:00 tires ah that would be like over 3500 RPM and I don't think a Multi would last too long at that RPM.

I have towed a 5 ton and bar tow my CUCV's all over the place. also speed when towing a CUCV is not a problem.. but look at the tack when I was towing a 5 ton up a 9% grade....

when I run my Deuce on a heavy gas mix its really hard to start. I would try running less gas or just start using 100% diesel and see if that take care of the problem. like I said I have had the same problem.
also the FDC can only go so far... if the fuel is hot and thin it will not be able to...
