That has been talked about here before. I think someone just with in the last couple months picked up a deuce from Gl that was doing that and it had a tank of gas AVGAS in it. shooting flames out the pipe

you don't have to add gas to the duramax in the winter. Its rated to start at -25* below and mine has started at -40* below no problem with no "thinner" in the fuel. You will not want to use anything but low sulfur Diesel, but you can use Diesel 911 and such. Gm always...

Ken I have used ATF for many years now (over 10k miles) with out a problem. The deuce has 3 fuel filters and anything that will harm the engine will get filtered out.
paint thinner is ok but only 1 or 2 gallons per 50 ( i know it eats seals and lines if used too much) I would go for used motor oil, the transmission fluid works very very well. you can get about 1 gallon of used oil and 2 out of the transmissions of most cars. Also don't forget about axles...
