    caution yankee smugglers

RE: Re: RE: parts Dedicated bunch of guys to travel that far south for a rally. Wonder if I can get them to come down half the way for the VA rally in April? :) Scrape some of that salt off and flavor your MREs!

    HEMETT RIMS FOUND

Why will there be no more? I reckon we will slowly start seeing them pop up surplus as the HEMTT gets older, right?

PICS of The M543A2 Going Through Phases- FOR SALE

RE: PICS of The M543 Going Through Phases Looks good so far! Please post pics of the paint job when it is done! I've heard a lot about Eastern Supply regarding their sales. Not so much on their services. Would be nice to see how it gets done, I might need some major resto work in the future...

    Oops I did it again!

Never ceases to amaze me the fact that they still have a few M54 series trucks that get auctioned off now and then. Where have they been hiding all these years? :)

    Lav-25 spotted the other day.

Exactly! Too bad it would cost a heckuva lotta money to buy an LAV just to get the tires. I don't think those new style meats are hitting the market yet.

Honey, you got some splainin' to do!

Re: RE: Hone, you got some splainin Roger that on the 10 miles. Every time I bring a truck home it's 100 miles one way. Not a very long trip, but wish it was shorter. I think the cargo cover got dragged over onto one side of the bed. If you had taken a pic of the opposite side, you'd see...

    Side by side bobbed dueces

Too low to the ground. Gotta jack it up so high that a Fiero can drive under it without a problem!

    rt-524 & R-422 HMMWV cables needed...

I have a bunch of RT-524 type cables over here I don't really need. The numbers you need are CX-4720/VRC, CX-4723/VRC, CX-4722/VRC, CG-1773/U, and a few others depending on the setup you have. I also have the proper MX-6707 base and MT-1029 mount, if you need them. PM me for info.

    Virgina Steel Soldiers Rally - April 4-6, 2008 - sign up !

Bump to top! Make sure you let other friends in the VA/MD/WV/PA areas know that the rally is on-schedule and we are looking good for the event plans. Many thanks to those who have already helped out with mapping routes, organizational support and volunteering for event activities!

    Made in Japan

I think it's a copy of our HMMWV, with a few Japan-inspired mods. What they don't tell you is that they also transform into 18-foot tall fighting robots that talk! Just kidding. Wish they were flying the Rising Sun flag on the door, though, instead of the Meatball. I'm sure that if we ever...

    1009 and 1008 towing capacities

8 years ago, I had a Dodge Dakota with a 3.9 V6 in it. I had a Class III hitch, and was towing back a U-haul trailer LOADED with surplus from Mechanicsburg PA. The trailer was carrying at least four tons of heavy items from the DRMO there. I took the trip very slowly, but as I got further...

    1009 and 1008 towing capacities

I have seen some folks tow a M101 3/4-ton trailer with the M1009, without too many problems, but I wouldn't go any bigger than that. I think the M1008 would be MUCH better suited for towing what you have, but you might have to upgrade to a frame-mounted Class 3 hitch.

    Military Vehicle Clubs?

I don't think the MVPA allows clubs on their webpage unless they are into WWII trucks. Just kidding! :)

    Dare I ask this?

Do what I do when idiot lights come on for no apparent reason: take the bulbs out from behind the idiot lights! ;) Seriously, I've had an idiot light on the dash of my Durango for the past 80,000 miles. The dealership has reset it several times, and told me that they can't find anything wrong...

    Lav-25 spotted the other day.

Are those rims 16" rims? Man, those tires would look killer on a M715 series truck, or an M37.

    Deuce putting the top down?

I'd take you up on that trade, Jay! But I fear shipping from CO would be murder....

Trip to Chambersburg 2/19 to get last deuce

Re: RE: Duece Actually, that makes sense. I wonder if that could have been minimized by extending the towbar - all my pulls home so far have been with the towbar in it's most "closed" form. Will remember this theory next time and check it out more...

Trip to Chambersburg 2/19 to get last deuce

No, HW - didn't bump into him. Only guys I saw there today were a tow truck driver who was hauling a deuce home as well, and Justin who ran the GL lot.

    Gumby M725 needs to go...

Love to take you up on a trade, kysar, but I've already got too many vehicles in the stable, and adding another one won't help matters. Plus, I'm in kinda a bind with some bills, need the $$$ to pay them off. The good news is I have a few interested parties in the -725, one in NC, one in OH...
