    Weird GL Sightings

I have a feeling some of those 2,399 miles that M35A3 drove, at least some of them were rainy miles.

    need a 10 ton tractor

Mack also made a 10-ton cargo, only a couple hundred, in the 1950s, called the M125. BKubu had one a while back that was in MVM. Used to tow heavy 155mm, 175mm, and 8-inch arty pieces, prior to the mobile arty taking over. Used a LeRoi gas 8-cylinder engine. VERY big. Much more useful than...

Anyone up at Mechanicsburg, Pa. this week?

RE: Re: RE: Anyone up at Chambersburg, Pa. this week? I will be going by there on Thursday, but I don't have time to stop this run. I have to get up to Colemans again to save some more iron from the scrapper!

    Goer

Most of them were built in the 1970s, and by the time they were being surplused out in the 1980s, the demil requirements for them had changed, so most got cut up for scrap metal, similar to what happened with most of the M151 Jeeps. Only a few hundred of them were made to begin with, so they...

    M88 ??

I'd rather have the M51 myself, course I always like BIGGER armor over standard BIG armor. The M51 was built on the HUGE M103 heavy tank chassis while the M88 was built on the M48/60 series. Here's a couple pics of the M51, one of them showing it parked next to a full-size M48A3 during the...

RT-524 Radio - Is this a good price?

That's a fair price - I've seen them higher, but I've seen them cheaper too. If he can guarantee that its not DOA, I'd get it. BTW - is this seller named Pvt. Jarhead? If so, he is VERY reputable, I'd buy from him any day.

    Looking for a Wrecker

M816 is probably the best, but the older M543 and M62s are no slouch either. There is a nice one for sale through Eastern Equipment in PA, the truck is located in NY, has some options that are nice, for $11,000.

    Out playing with the Goat

Re: RE: Re: RE: Out playing with the Goat Goats were used by all branches, some more than others, but the Army and USMC were definitely heavy users of them.

    Out playing with the Goat

RE: Re: RE: Out playing with the Goat Cool pics! That goat always surprises me what it can do. I don't care what anyone else says against the goat, I like them.

    Cover

I think the original quote was "Better Dead Than Red", referring to one's preference to be 6 feet under rather than a Communist. However, in our line of work, yes, better red than dead.

5 Ton and M37 for sale Locally

They are nice, but $9500 for the M37 is still a little high. Though, there is a nice NICE museum quality example that sold recently for $24,000. So, someone out there has the money for these things.

    Wack a Door or something???

It was a mid-80s Chevy product. The parts didn't line up right from the factory, why change it? :)

more pics of unknown deuce+++MORE PICS ADDED+++

It looks like an amalgamachine to me. Definitely a Memphis job, from a while back. They were building trucks out of misc. components from different models. I doubt they have done this for many years, but perhaps they took a M35 cab and dropped it on a WWII era frame/axles.

    Random Pictures

RE: Re: RE: Random Pictures I liked the random photo on the side, as well as the top posters count. If its a matter of speed, I believe we should look for an alternative computer program to handle these plugins, rather than abandon those two features.

Man, that's a nice looking camping area, and trails look pretty good too! Too bad it's way too far for me....
