    CUCV History.. medlog, others?

Vehicle was transferred to A Company, 57 Signal Battalion at Fort Hood, TX fairly recently and was probably sent to DRMO from there. This unit failed to properly receive the vehicle into the unit. Before that unit, I found the following: US Army Operational Test Command, Location: FT...

Transmission experts, help me find the problem...

If you've had the vehicle for 18 months and have no idea when the fluid was last changed, change it immediately. Drop the pan and throw it away. Get one of the newer pans for the HMMWV that has the drain plug in to simplify life in the future. It's a start.

    Looking for some history

Hey Jake, How's my...your truck!? Showed them to one of the guys from the former unit and he was absolutely estatic. He had actually drove one of them to DRMO and towed another behind it. Of course he and some other guys took six there in one day. He had some good tales about that trip. medlog

    M818 history/info and sf/97 question

We'll work this from the top. "It is a DA form 2408-9 dated 1 OCT 1972" The 2408-9 is a form that for lack of calling it anything else, is a title and registration for military vehicles. A change in the 2408-9 is suppose to be completed when a vehicle changes hands but as I often see...

    CUCV History.. medlog, others?

ASTFU, Guess it did go across the big pond. The unit 9 may also be the 9th Theater Support (now Sustainment) Command. I think they use to be located in Ft Belvoir VA. The truck may have been stationed in Japan long term or it could have been shipped there just for an exercise or both. I...

    CUCV History.. medlog, others?

OK, something different here folks, it says this truck was stationed in HONSHU, JAPAN but I with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 17th Legal Affairs Battalion (Augmentation). However, I do not think the vehicle actually went to Japan. My belief is the fact there was an (Augmentation)...

    DDoyle (Straight fender truck)

Actually I can think of 41,822 reasons why a person would change the numbers. Loose a truck at the port or someone else has a better one than yours, a dozen screws and you're done. Happens more often than you think.

GL sale 3134, anyone get another CUCV?

I was wondering the same thing. I was tracking the two M1009's at Aberdeen and was very, very tempted to jump on both of them. About the only thing that held me back was wondering what the floors looked like in the vehicles. I saw the vehicles had their fluids drained and batteries removed...
