My Glow Plug System Dilemma....AntennaClimber this is for you...:)

Karl, your reply sounds like you are referring only to the rapid clicking that occurs when the GPs are burned out or when the relay is bad. What about the afterglow issue that he was asking about. Mine does afterglow and is supplied with 12v.

    m1009 reverse lights not working

I've adjusted mine. I don't recall exactly how I squeezed it, but it wasn't too hard to figure out, as I recall. Surprised it isn't in one of the 2 TMs. edit, I just searched the TMs and there is no memntion of adjustment. Thinking about the last time I adjusted mine(a few months back), I...

    '71 M792 Brakes won't stop this thing!

I just looked and our site only has the operators TM available. I have all the TMs on my computer, but they are too big to send to you. The brake system is "split", iirc each half of the master cylinder feeds one front wheel and two opposite side rear wheels.

Oh crud, I just realized which forum/vehicle we're in. Forget my previous info. (I was refering to 2.5 ton trucks) I do own a goat, so I am familiar with your vehicle. Goats do not have boosted brakes.

Leaving the parking brake on should not affect the service brakes. The air-pack is what "boosts" the brakes(like providing power brakes). That's probably your problem.

    Shifting issues

So you did use the TM, must have figured it out with step#2. 51. WILL NOT SHIFT PROPERLY Step 1. Check transmission fluid indicator for proper reading. (See TM 9-2320-289-10) Step 2. Inspect vacuum hoses, vacuum pump, and vacuum regulator valve for improper connection, leakage, or damage.

wet stacking or idling my Mep-003a

Says the guy selling voltage regulators.:-? Here's the exact verbage from the TM. Read it any way you like. STARTING GENERATOR SET (SEE FIGURE 2-3). CAUTION Do not idle engine. Operate generator set only at rated RPM. Do not use either to aid starting generator set. Do not operate in...

Glow Plug Relay Only Thing Missing?

Wrong assumption. It has indirect injection, and needs GPs to start anytime it has not been run recently(last few hours).

wet stacking or idling my Mep-003a

Never idle it, it will destroy the voltage regulator(This is in the operators manual and has been covered here before). An advanced search in the axillary equipment forum for, "wet stacking", "idling", and any other things you question, should help you easily answer your questions.
