Call Dave or Brian and find out what the latest someone can inspect something for you. I might be able to get out there. Not that I know anything but I didn't know anything about an 817 either and helped out.

About what time will you be driving through Dayton? I'm not taking a truck but I am going to be taking the Dodge with the travel trailer and I can caravan with you guys.

I never thought to ask but the three I heard running sounded nice. Let me know if you get one and I can bring it out to the farm for you if needed. I think they are automatics. I thought I had Brian say that when he started the one we used for the jump.
They have about 10 or more going up for auction. They all run. Brian told me they drive everything into that section. If you can tell which section it is in you can tell right away if it runs or not.
Looked like they had a couple Deuces and 817s and an 818 coming up as well, all in the...
While I can't compare your two trucks with each other I think it is safe to say that anyone following gimp's truck didn't look to good from all the oil spraying on it.
;-)
I drag mine behind my big mower when I do the big fields. Cleans 'em right up.
I like the idea of sand in a bucket. You could actually take a barrel and place it on rollers tilted at an angle and have a motor drive the barrel like a tumbler like a cement truck.
I think that what has been over looked is all the work you are doing to help out your Grandma.
Good job (and good work on the truck and trailer too).

Someone suggested I might be close enough to help out with trooper632's 817 at WPAFB.
So I took the day off from work and asked my Brother to go with me but called him off first thing this morning because I had not heard back anything about the trucker's contact info.
So I pulled two batteries...
Once again I helped with a recovery at WPAFB and Brian came through for me.
I got another one of his cards and put it in my wallet this time.......... ;-)
Jeff, Sign me up for 1-XL and 3-XXXLs for a total of four shirts.
Do you want us to bring cash check or VISA? :-)
(I'd pay more for a 4XL if you could get it to cover my FDS.)
