POST #9 PANSHARK--"sorry for being snyde, but the thread was getting off-track pretty quick, blaming a new buyer (we've all been new before) for not knowing how to check a fluid before driving a maintained truck to his house. He might not have even done his own pre-trip at all yet, if he...

access panels, what is under them....

Because someone (you) did a pre-trip does not mean that you DO NOT need to KNOW at least where the MC is, because there was NO leak yesterday, DOES NOT mean there is not one today, I would guess the buying of the deuce was NOT a spare of the moment decision, why not get or at least READ the...

I noticed the the GL is now complying with the SS site rules of not showing pics. of active auctions, so as not to raise the price for bidders, ect. Their adds on the left have nothing but ending dates of 12/2/2010, THANK YOU auction POLICE for a job well done [thumbzup]

serious discussion of 5-ton speed increase via gearing (transmission, differential)

as long as you rev your 250, thats cool, though I dont see it lasting long, a over rev for a built pulling truck is one thing, so you get a few second runs out of it, fine, you turn one of these 250s to 24 or 2500, going down the road, I hope you have another motor in the shop. you will have...

    winch and shear pins, ugh!!!

At the FIRST GA. rally, someone with a M819, forgot to lock in the front drive  and got STUCK in a mud hole :(, Jwaller used his deuce winch to pull it out , he backed up till his drum was down to about 1/3 wrap of cable, pulled the 819 OUT. [thumbzup]

    winch and shear pins, ugh!!!

No, i dont think the cable is the weak point because the safe working load is 1/4 or 1/5 of breaking, I think you will see a lot more BROKE winches then a GOOD cable

    winch and shear pins, ugh!!!

NO, I cant, the smaller the dia., the more line pull-slower line speed, the fatter the dia., the less, line pull-faster line speed
