This area was 65mph, so I was only about 5 under. The other car was well over.
I frequently run flashers at night if I'm 15mph under the speed limit. Although not precisely legal, it strikes me as best-practice.
I got pulled over once and the cop asked me why I had my flashers on. I told him...
While driving my M925 home from dropping off a M35A2 in Phoenix yesterday evening, a bad thing happened.
I was driving in the right lane on the interstate, about 60mph, soft top removed. Headlights approaching from behind. He changed to the left lane abruptly at the last moment and went left...
To his credit , he is asking questions and seems to be paying attention to answers.
Some people you just can't tell anything. He doesn't seem to be one of those.
Are you made of money? These things are straightforward enough that there is very little you can't learn to do yourself.
Part of being a competent operator is knowing how it works. A big piece of knowing how it works is being able to maintain it yourself.
Not to mention the cost difference...
A rollbar won't improve safety for anyone who isn't in the truck. His life is his to risk as he sees fit...
I found it enlightening to see one that had rolled over...
Someone here has in the signature line - "I've never had so much fun driving so slow." For me, that really sums it up.
If you want to go fast, get a charger SRT8. 0-60 rigjt around 5sec, quarter mile in the 12s, pulls like that all the way to 180mph..and it'll stop from 100mph faster than these...
I presume he is looking for a higher top speed. And is willing to have the tires hit the bed at full articulation. And is willing to have the left front rub the control arm - he didn't mention changing to hemtt rims.
It was a michelin. Plenty of tread left on it. 55psi. About 50mph. No warning, just BANG and the truck tried to slew sideways. There was no oncoming traffic so I used the oncoming lane to do slow correction and get it to the shoulder.
I had a goodyear with about 70% tread and a 2010 Date code...
55psi all the way around in hwy mode on your M923A2.... unless the CTIS has been tampered with.
The place to ask if new 16.00R20s can handle 70 mph is the manufacturer. They have anticipated the question and have already provided the answer - No. They rate them 55mph.
Do you really plan to...
When this happens at 50mph you might pinch a hole in the seat cushion.
Do you really want to try it at 70 mph?
The liability will be inescapable. So you're in the interstate with a posted speed limit of 75, and you're going 70ish, and your tire blows and a goodsized chunk of tread goes...
Pictured is grade 70 tow chain, not sure of the length.
Since then I've upgraded to grade 100 5/8" hemtt chains @ 16'.
I thought I remembered you buying some from me? Your buddy may have a couple extra - he just wiped me out of them...
The ABS light is most likely just batteries discharged below resurrection. After a few starts with new batteries the ABS light will likely go out. I see this a lot in auction trucks.
I looked for a RRAD rebuild tag on the dash. The pictures don't show well enough to tell. I give 80% chance...
I just watched the video. I proclaim it a success - nobody was injured and no equipment was damaged. If i didn't say so loudly enough before - kudos to Gunzy! Greg is a good guy.
I do have a comment - I strongly advocate the use of safety chains, crossed under the towbar. By crossing them...
I know exactly how you feel, lol. Two out of my three trucks will be going to their new owners within the next few weeks. The first one gets delivered a week from today..... :)
I'll take a 5ton next time and they can "get rid of" all the pallets they'd like. I fabricate and sell a pallet disassembly tool and my tool customers always want to buy pallets too...
