I've got a guy with a bad 8.3 liter block in his motorhome. He says the entire engine is just rebuilt with all good components and assembly errors ruined the block. He wants to use everything off his motor to build one of my NOS bare blocks.
Before we go shipping big heavy things accross the...
Is the block for our M939a2 trucks the same as used in a 325 HP 8.3 in a motorhome from the late 90's?
Yes, I searched. Yes, I called Cummins. Yes, I called several parts places to ask for numbers. No answers forthcoming.
Old bad block motor number is 45383673. New block part number is...
maybe we can all get this professional training and we can then all multitask while driving in perfect safety. .... is it perhaps Special High Intensity Training? :)
A couple of comments and questions....
What about the cellphone that's also the GPS guidance device? Are we going to ban all GPS navigation, or just the ones attached to the phone?
Are we really better off giving a larger incentive to gold the device below dash level so as not to get caught...
Cheap lesson. Nobody got hurt and no equipment was damaged.
Some would go so far as to label it as entertainment.
"Adventure" is some other poor b*stard in a **** of a jam far away. :)
M934 and m934A1 probably won't get 7mpg. I get 6 mpg in my M925.
I've recovered several M934s with the NH250 and got 4-5mpg out of them cruising at highway speeds in varied terrain.
PM sent. (For all interested parties, yes it was an offer - $2 per loaded mile. )
Hot water running gently over it. Takes a while, and wastes both water and the power used to heat it....
Oil is lighter than water so will float up and the water will carry it away. The heat from the hot water decreases oil's viscosity and helps this along.
Works best on horizontal surfaces...
I find it conceivable that someone will read this thread and as a result will secure a battery they would not otherwise have secured.
Thanks are due to the OP for posting his mistake so that others can learn from it instead of having to make their own similar mistakes...
I'll add empty water bottles to that list - on top of batteries under the seat of 939 trucks, the bottles crush when you close the lid, providing a semi-formfitting enclosure. Keeps the battery posts from touching anything they shouldn't. Field expedient until you get home and fab something better.
Precisely! Empirical evidence trumps conjecture every time....
And since he's done this same design on another truck apparently we have at least a sample size of ONE that indicates that it works.
I disagree. I see 4 shackle mounts which are intended to be used at a working load of 40,000lbs each. 4 of them supporting a 20,000lb pull from a winch. I don't see increased length of moment arms adding force to the mounts. I don't see leveraged shear forces.
It should be overkill by a...
