    M923a2 off-road truck camper options

The tires aren't rated for higher speeds, due to centrifugal forces. You run the risk of catastrophic failure at sustained higher speeds. If the goal is simply to increase speed, changing gearing accomplishes that. The problem is that the truck as a whole is not designed for higher speeds...

    M923a2 off-road truck camper options

M934A2... learn to like cruising 60ish. You can make them go faster, but it's hard to make them stop safely from higher speeds...

    M1008/1009 Front Clevis Deminsions

I like using the shackles off large trucks on bumper fab. (This bumper still gets the winch bolts drilled and some channel front and center)

    m35a2 advice needed

They aren't under built. They're generally way overbuilt. The shear pins mentioned above are a safety feature to keep it from breaking itself. they aren't designed to be used by one person acting alone. Controls placement and such...

    m35a2 advice needed

This contradicts my understanding. 20 ton = 40,000lbs.... the winch on my 5ton is only 20,000 lbs rating. My understanding is the M35A2 winch was 10,000lbs....

M1009 with 35" tires no lift.

Your trimming really looks pretty good.

Is it my imagination or is it easier to start and faster acceleration with full tank?

Post office vehicles used to collapse the fuel tanks that way...

    m35a2 advice needed

Thing is, the pto winch on the deuces is a 10k winch. Adding the pto winch is a pita.... but you could add an 18k electric winch for about $1k all in.... And while I agree a pto winch is generally better than an electric winch (duty cycle); ease of install, cost, and increased line pull would...

M1009 with 35" tires no lift.

This leads me to believe 33's and a 4" lift is optimal. Especially if not changing out the 10bolt differentials. Comments?

    Best Lift Kit for m1009?

Rough country part number 245.20 is the full spring kit that fits the m1009 (I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Building a winch bumper. It's still a work in progress. Dimensioned for the warn series 18. Front center is going to get a piece of channel with fairlead. I think I'll put deuce shackle mounts on it (thanks wreckerman)... (If you can read this, roll me over...)

    just a question?

"Better" for what? Either makes a fine toy.... Artisan's M916 is very nice. I even like the strange shifting sounds it makes.... But the HET is unmatched by anything else in US inventory....

Removing civvy paint and retaining military numbers/markings?

I was able to read what was under the civvy paint. Now, if I held the gun on it longer the CARC was eaten away. But just a light touch and the civvy paint was gone and what was underneath remained. I used a $20 harbor freight sandblaster, about 90psi, and just plain old sand (with respirator...

    just a question?

The thing is, multiple calls to the DMV in just about any state will get you multiple conflicting answers. I travel for work, and was moving every 13 weeks up until recently. I started off with asking MO's DMV. 3 calls got me three different answers, mutually exclusive. I moved to TX and...
