Aint' it a B----!
That's what drives me bananas when Momma hits that shrill tone, asking "Why can't you just fix the little this-or-that!???"
And I just don't have the energy to explain the MTD Syndrome to her. So she gives me the look and starts her mumbling....
If you're not entirely landlocked, I wonder if dropping it into a boat hold, and shipping by sea would be cheaper for you. Who knows!?
OK, where's my map of Maine?
Don't I know it. I took a beating on the Deuce that I've since bought-and-sold. But a lot of learning comes from mistakes, not the best method I'm telling you, but on the up-side: you likely will NEVER forget the lesson (I know I won't). My own fault though, just got ahead of myself is all.
It is a terrible tragedy, and by its nature (the fatalities being foreign students), an international event. This is sad (maybe even on more levels than we realize right now).
For the record, here's the coverage in The Washington Post...
You are right, absolutely right. In fact, I picked up my welding at the local Community College (Northern Virginia Community College, NOVA).
It's just like, "WAAAAAAN, I don't wanna go to school!"
Say, we're not drifting here or anything, are we!?
It's impressive that you got all that done in a day.
My luck it would have taken 2-3 days over the course of 2-3 weeks to get something like that done, between:
- The Honey-Do's
- The interruptions
- Breaking for lunch.
- Going for parts and materials (right? you're always missing one d**n...
jpg, your whole explanation here is completely understandable (which isn't always the case with electrical explanations):
- You could be a professor of Electrology!
I don't know Electricity, I confess, but i do WANT to learn, so excuse if this is stupid (wouldn't be the first time!), BUT:
- So you're thinking it's some kind of parasitic load or something, because this "shouldn't" be happening; is that it?
Now THAT makes sense.
What I mean is I was wondering how anybody could, realistically, measure that gap (of what was it, 0.00003" or something)!?
The method you're describing, rustystud, is something a person can actually DO.
That works fine. Bring on more of your buddies, why not!?
Beer and TV is all good, but chances are you might help us all raise the intellect bar here a notch or two, and likely that wouldn't hurt anybody none.
A little drift here, but wondering what you got going on in the second pic:
- Looks kind of like an AK-47, but I'm not sure it is; and with a stainless steel bolt...
What you got going on there?
You're real close, Special T.
And, I'm telling you that I had to look it up myself (which is the lesson I learned so helpfully from YOU, ColdWarrior: "The Internet is Our Friend"; well, usually anyhow):
