you have right regular lay, right lang lay, left regular lay, left lang lay, right and left alternating lay. it all depends on how the wire rope is pulled off the drum from where it is on the drum and how it is used
as far as lube goes I use a spray chain and cable lube made by lubaiplate
as far as the fleet angle goes if you just use a level wind without the tensioner on the 5t the cable will bunch up on the pulled side if the fleet angle is off a all
[thumbzup]:ditto:work is so slow here, a networking place like you went to do would be great, I know that a lot of my fellower SSers are in the same boat.
i would swap the total rear, there is a good chance that the axle snout is trashed if the bearings spun on the snout, with the hub comming off i would say that is the case
stallion off shore here in LA. they make living quarters that are the same as containers, use a big man lift to place the rigger on top, thay stack 3 high if needed in the yard, have a lot of sling on top so the working angle is safe and not overload the rigging. thay also use a big crane with...
you would need a tractor to pull the intermodal trailer, pulling with the crane would put you so over weight, depending on the crane, the boom may be over the rear on a dolly to spread the weight, so you could not tow something.
a few hours in the seat would not get me any closer then if you...
a 819 wont work, it has 26' of boom length, will not stand straight up, so getting 3 stacked will not happen, getting 2 stacked will be hard because rigging adds to the height needed. you will need at least a 35t crane so you have the reach, the stacking 3 high, to be able to pick from a...
all the emg. shut downs on the 809 series do not go back to run position when you push the emg. shut down back in, i put a spring on it, so if i have to turn the fuel shut off solenoid in, i can still shut down, then restart.
NOTE this was NOT me idea but was Will Wagners, when my fuel shut...
im going to straight pipe the 819 when i get to it, im going to cut the flanges off the muffler, then weld a long flowing 90 to them. i dont care about the noise, its the about $300 for the muffler that i dont need
at the first ga. rally, the 819 was at the rear of the convoy, the drivers at the head end said that they could hear the 819 over there deuces, that was before the muffler blew out.
It took a 20t press to pop the brass star out of the end for the 819, when i reassembled the end, i used anti-seize on everything ( threads, cable end and star). The tm says not to reuse the star, but if you dont have another, do what you have to. Someone here on SS awhile back posted a place...
the 819s fifth wheel never had grease on it, its just the same color as the rest of the truck, i would clean and paint, use a semi gloss black, it would be protected from the weather and at the same time look like it is used
the 8x8 sits,
the tb from he-ll adaptors that have the big pins will NOT work with bushings on the 1"lift/tow brackets . bushings was plan A, the correct adaptors was plan B, plan A is some where in the garage
i got the tb from he-ll to tow the 819. it weighs 36000+, just about the limit of the medium, now that i have the 8x8 , in time im going to get another tb from he-ll and the same adapters as i have for the 819. maxing out the medium bothers me
i think the 900 series has the front drive shaft going up the right side of the trans. i could be wrong, it wont be the first time, just ask my X wife. if it goes up the right side, it might no clear the 900 auto as your front axle takes the front drive shaft on the left
one thing to think about is the cooling of the auto and also the clearance for the front drive shaft, on the stock trans there is not much clearance and that trans is fairly narrow
