I see aluminum duct tape under the paint in several places, then painted over. I'm not too impressed with the previous "restoration".

I would disconnect the battery wire on the rear of each alt, one at a time, and see it that draw disappears. Do not short to ground!
Also, the capacitor/suppressor between the buss bars(passenger side firewall) could be bad. (It's unneeded).
That load sounds too small to be the under dash...
Why and how? Only the front battery is used, once it's started and the glow plugs stop cycling(unless you have resupplied them,as many of us suggest. If so, then only for starting, is the rear battery used.).
You will surely void any warranty on a new alternator if you drill it's casing and...
It's best to continue a previous thread, rather than start a new one for a continuing problem. I merged your threads. I also noticed you have a non stock alternator installed, from your other posts. Perhaps all of your issues are related.
Most people will not look back at all your threads...
