    I'd bet Air in the system. Remove the radiator cap(use caution) and let it run until the thermostat opens, top off if needed. or, If you remove the cap and you can see it is lower than your heater hose, fill it, then run it with the cap off unti it gets warm. If that doesn't fix...

    Best choice is to use a volt meter and follow the starting circuit along and find where your problem is. You may have a bad cable or a bad starter. New batteries can be bad also. Load test them.

    The center of the new drain valve is about 2 inches further under the truck. I see no gain there. On most of my trucks, I have added a 2.5" long, 1/2-20 bolt to the drain valve handle. This makes it much easier to rotate.
