the same trans, the frame for all the wreckers ie m62,m543, m816 are the same, the 809 series has a longer hood and side peices because the radatior was moved forward so the cummins will fit
the bridge truck also has spacers on the rear axles and long lugs, the rims are 12"where the standard rim is 11", the spacers are about 3" thick, this keeps the 1400s from rubbing the springs. the tm-20p and 34p show this detail clearly, the older 5t bridge truck(m139)had the same axles only...
the high wrecker lights are a exter set of brake/turn signal/ running lights so when the wrecker has a vehicile in tow( like a tractor & trailer) ,the following vehicile will know if the wrecker is going to stop ect., takes the place of tow lights
warren is talking about the battary on/off switch, its still my guess that the wires are in the wrong conectors, the reason i say that, the switch works backwards (ie if what is to come in the on postion, comes on in the off postion and turns off in the on postion) in another words its wired...
i did the same thing ,only moding something i got off ebay, works like a champ, i can do the brakes on the 819 in less then an hour from start ti finish (thats walking to the truck to walking away)
