the high range sliding gear is worn, i beleave these are syncoed transfers, that to will cause it to pop out of high range, my old m52 did that for 2 years before i replaced the transfer, i found that it was cheaper to put in a god takeout then rebuild it, i just installed a shift gate like what...
i mounted mine on the right side of the front bumper with bungee cords. ga. has only one plate thats rear mounted except truck tractors which is front mount, 819=TRACTOR wrecker

if the waffle plate is used to lift a non winch truck, the hook block is into the grill and the hood, it will get it every time , the chains get the block up and away
