Whats the load weigh and at what length from the pivot point and how far from the bed floor? Its amazing how much stress a lever with a weight on it introduces.

Most (and its spelled) "deuces" don't like coolant all the way full. As long as you can see it in the filler neck you should be ok. The fact that your getting to 190 might be an indication of other issues though. Most of these trucks run cool and have problems getting to 180.
We all know GL isn't the greatest, maybe you should send a copy of this post to GL directly. Maybe GP might like to know too. None of the units you saw on the lot had sale and/or lot numbers?!

This is good info so far, but what about the turbo maps? Long ago, a member here said that just slapping another turbo on will do little if it doesn't have a similar "turbo map".
I don't know much about turbos other than the basics, so I am just going from what I was told in the past.
Jack the truck up and put it on blocks(a lift is even better).
Get an "undercoating" gun from horrible freight.
Spray the underside liberally with used motor oil.
It keeps most stuff lubed and really cuts down on the effect of road salts!
