The FM100 can use NPT pipe thread for fuel connections which is tapered or the O-ring seal style which isn't a tapered thread. Converting to and from shouldn't be a big deal.
Yup
The oil drips through the filter material. Just cause it does not "drain back" doesn't mean it doesn't drain forward.
Yes its slower, but it still drains out.
Mine was um Asian?
BWAAAAhahahahaha
Well, mine lost all oil pressure and burned out at the same time,
so the sound made all the hairs on my body stand up. I was amazed and don't know how anyone could ever re-produce that sound. WOW
Nah, first long road trip and the gear oil had heated up and expanded, pushing itself out the input shaft(vent was clogged too). I dropped the level a bit and its been leak free since.
When my trans puked gear oil on my clutch, I too used brake clean to make sure it didn't slip any more.
Its not too big of a task to pull the trans and see whats going on. I'd recommend it.
If you decide to go the FM100 route, the heaters from a 6.5 motor work in those housings. You can also buy them in 12 or 24v if you prefer new. The FM100 has LOTS of options.
