Finished fabricating the custom aluminum bracket for the Spinner centrifugal oil filter, and fabricated its oil supply line from the turbo supply port.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Is it ridiculous pricey? Oh yeah. If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it. (Just Kidding!)

Kinda got carried away..... M1028 rebuild

The TV cable bracket for a 6.2 diesel engine is rare, however can be obtained through Ebay occasionally. Sometimes a fellow Steel Soldier member will have one for sale. I purchased mine by watching Ebay on a daily basis. If I remember correctly, I paid $100 for mine. The TV cable is still...

Kinda got carried away..... M1028 rebuild

Well after several months hiatus helping manage my wife's company, I am finally ready to get back to work on my P400 / 700R4 build and continue this rebuild thread, which has now gone on for nine (9) years. The first order of business was to bolt down the new open-plane intake manifold. Since...

    Fuel Line Help

The only way to “just” replace the nut would be to push the nut up the line and tape it to hold it up, then use a close-quarters plumbers pipe cutter to cut off the flare so the damaged nut could come off. Then a new nut could be pushed up the line and taped to hold it in place, and then the end...

    Fuel Line Help

I just recently fabricated a new fuel pump output line for my P400 engine build while it is still on my engine stand, and I can almost guarantee you that you will not be able to bend and then install a new line while the engine is still in the truck. My recommendation is to obtain a good used...

kicking around ideas for ac on my 1009

Rich; I’m not sure the CUCV 24 volt system can replenish amperage fast enough to keep up with how fast the Coleman will use it. Maybe it can while at highway speeds, but what about at lower RPM’s when working your way back to your campsite? I’m also not sure 8000 BTU’s will provide sufficient...

    Best Water Pump for Replacement?

Just remember that you need a clockwise rotation for a V-belt system (as viewed from the front of the engine). Serpentine belt systems use counter-clockwise pumps.

    Best Water Pump for Replacement?

Peninsular Diesel went bankrupt last year. If I were you I would get one of those OEM units from Eastern Surplus. Or if you want/need more flow, spend a few extra bucks and get a FlowKooler. That’s what I installed on my P400. Just my 2 cents.

    M1008 turbo and serpentin swap

Thanks. If I could just re-retire I could get my new P400 and 700R4 installed. Let me know if I can assist you in anyway.

    M1008 turbo and serpentin swap

I’ve learned that you will have more folks following your thread if you will post just a little bit of progress and include photos to visually explain what you did. Have you been following my rebuild thread?

What do I need to remount hmmwv tires with the beadlock and runflats?

I used RTV to hold the O-ring in place while the outer rim was torqued down. RTV seemed to work better than Super Glue, which the previous owner had used and made a mess and had to be chipped out with a sharp screwdriver. Let us know how that McMaster O-ring fits.

    Cab roof insulation

Has anybody come up with a way to insulate the open void space in our trucks cab roofs? It seems we spend a lot of time, money and effort insulating the floor and firewall but never do anything with the cab roof. Thanks in advance for your replies.
