Does anyone have a good clear picture of the fuse panel that shows all of the letters identifying what each fuse goes too? Mine are all but wiped off of my fuse panel?
Thanks in advance.
Is there a proper order to connect or disconnect the batteries on a M1009. I usually disconnect the positive first and connect the positive last, but with two batteries connected is this right?
I have a 24 volt siren that I simply want to test from a 24 volt source on my M1009. Where would be the easiest place to hook it to? I know the starter is 24 volts but is hard to get to. Is there a certain place on the firewall that I can get 24 volts? Thanks in advance for help.
I had come across an old original CCKW open cab last year and was unable to talk the owner out of sending it to the scrap yard. Since then I have wondered about taking an old CCKW that was in bad shape and either putting the cab and front end on a late model one ton chassis or putting the late...
I attempted to connect my power cable to my RT-524 radio for the first time in my M1009. This cable comes from under the dash and is the female end that is the mate to the plug in on the left rear bottom of the RT-524. Cable has #4722/VRC on it. Anyway while I was tryng to connect it sparks...
Since there is a key question out there, I thought another one might be in order. Like most CUCV's mine had a chain welded to the drivers seat and two nice locks to chain and lock the steering wheel. This was due to the ignition keys being the same on all of them.
My question is does anyone...
My CUCV M1009 finally came home. I drove it 16 miles from the mechanics house last night with the new flexplate. Everything seemed fine. Got to work on gas gauge problem and right side gen light. Both batteries are charging, but the right light and amp gauge have problems. Lot to learn, but...
Does anyone have some websites or parts vendors they would recommend as the best places to buy parts for the M1009? I understand NAPA carries a lot of them since they can interchange with the civilian version. I was wondering if there were some vendors that might have NOS military parts...
I just got some bad news on my new M1009 rubbing problem. My mechanic friend is pretty sure it is a cracked crank shaft. I thought it was going to be a flywheel or bolt problem. He will know for sure tommorrow when he cleans it and checks it again. He said their is a wobble to the converter...
Well I finally got the 1984 M1009 CUCV today. Hopefully a mechanic friend can diagnose the transmission cover rubbing and right generator light problem so I can get on the road soon. I told him all of the suggestions I received here on the forum about my problems.
Thanks for the help and will...
I was reading the TM and it says the M1009 maximum towed load capacity is 1200 lbs for both cross country and highway travel. Tongue weight not to exceed 100 lbs. How much have any of you towed behind your M1009? I had hoped to tow my 16 foot trailer with my 2300 lb GPW on it? Looks like I...
I was reading an old April 2003 article from MV magazien about CARC paint. They said that when painted correctly that the engines were also painted in CARC. The article was talking about all military vehicles in general. Did the military ever paint the CUCV engines any color besides black?
I am looking to buy my first M1009. I am new to the M1009, since I have been restoring WWII jeeps for the last five years. The one I am looking at has a rebuilt motor put in before it was released from the Army. The problem is the flywheel rubs the transmission cover, but with the cover off...
