Alot depends on how much water you carry, my dept has a 923 with 1500 gal on it and a 931 with 600 on it both on duels. our experience with singles is on our m35a3 (600gal) we had alot of tire issues mostly side wall damage we switched it to duels a month ago and it drives alot better down...
Wow cleaning the dungeons of sd40s in the 70s with no air maybe I shouldn't complain. lol We have a few old emds as yard switchers and hump engines. Alot of the consists come in and you know they only clean the leader and motors from other roads are usually the worst. Sure glad their removing...
We have 1. Only problem we have is tires and we're probly harder on it than we should be but they are a good slow speed off road truck. 600 gal. is enough to be effective but not over loaded. Just make sure anyone that drives it is well trained they are different to drive than any other truck...
Does the 927 have the single tires on the back? My dept looked at one in goldsby but decided against it too much
truck for singles. I love the 923 we did get though. Would like to have a 925 for the winch.
I was surprised that they were gone not sure who hauled them because the yard down there doesn't even have the money to get trucks for giving to fire depts. All the trucks on the old loaner program that come back are going straight to sale.
I hear that its been a busy year for us too we spent last week fixing trucks from the last round of fires. we have a 5 ton that was pretty much totaled body wise during the spring fires (I won't post pics because i would get yelled at on here). Only problem is that surplus is not getting any...
Yeah I like the black and red too. The green truck is a 91 and only has 20000 miles on it so its still new and we also have a 2010 freightliner engine so it doesn't get used a whole lot now.
That'll work. I always like how different depts name trucks everything we have that is grass/brush related we call squads I tried to get the 923 called just truck 6 instead of squad 6 since it doesn't fit into 1 category. We try to keep everything red but we bought an engine from penn. and it's...
Good lookin truck. I'm a volunteer near Sand Springs, we have a duece with 600gal on it and 2 5 tons 1 with 600 and 1 with 1500 on it. I've been criticized some for our trucks too you kinda just have to take it and go on. This site is full of alot of good info and people
