    Front brake hose pictures

Thanks nk14zp. My hoses are installed incorrectly. Those metal tabs that mount through the kingpin bolts are on the outer bolts on mine, instead of on the inners like yours. Also the hose comes off the wheel cylinder at such an angle that it actually is pressed up agains the curve of the...

    Front brake hose pictures

I was wondering if anyone could post a few good pictures of how their brake hoses are routed from the steel lines to the wheel cylinders. I'm replacing my old hoses and they just don't seem to be installed right because they rub on things I would have assumed they shouldn't be touching, and...

    Ouverson Engineering Wish List

I thought about the pinion brakes. If you could get a master cylinder to work off of the e-brake handle, they would make a real sturdy parking brake, and if you're in an emergency, or your normal brakes blow out, it would be real nice to have.

    Sand/Sodablaster in eastern PA?

I've got a car frame, 1971 Pontiac LeMans, that is stripped down and needs to be cleaned up. Is there anyone on here that has the equipment, or knows someone who does, that can blast this thing for me? I live in Catasauqua PA, which is just outside of Allentown (zip 18032). I don't want one...

    Park brake spring

I got one from Saturn Surplus. I just called them and asked for the mustache spring, and they knew what I was talking about.

    Clean motor oil as fuel?

Well I put 10 gallons of the new oil in it, and topped the rest of the tank off with diesel. Took her for a spin and didn't notice any difference, no smoke either. When the tank runs down a little more, I'm going to top off with more oil. Spending $66 to top off the tank with 25 gal of diesel...

    Clean motor oil as fuel?

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to dump a few gallons in probably tomorrow when I go to get some more diesel. I have to pick up a few tons of landscaping stone this weekend, so I hope it works.

    Clean motor oil as fuel?

Where I work, we have an abundance of clean motor oil that just sits around and will never be used. It is synthetic 0W-20 weight oil. It's brand new in sealed containers, never used. I'm assuming since waste motor oil can be used, that clean motor oil can be used. But could it be a problem...

    Axle Temps

When I picked up my Deuce, I drove it 500 miles from NC to PA. We drove at a steady 50mph, almost all highway, about 250 miles a day. When I pulled over to stop for the night, all my hubs were cool/lukewarm to the touch. I don't know what the temperature was, but it wasn't remotely close to...

    Radiator core is shot

So my radiator starting leaking pretty bad, lost about 3/4 of a gallon after sitting overnight. Got it pulled out last night and dropped it off at the radiator shop today. The guy calls me this afternoon and tells me the core is shot. He says big cores like that are replaceable, but it's hard...

    Brake pedal return spring replacement?

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up just ordering a new spring from Saturn Surplus. I figured better be safe than sorry. Now it sucks that I just bought the truck and can't drive it for a few days

    Brake pedal return spring replacement?

Thank you for the thorough reply, it should make installation a bit easier. However I do not have the old spring anymore. If I had to guess, it's sitting on I95 right now. When I measured the distance between the mounting tab on the frame and the mount on the master cylinder, it's very close...

    Brake pedal return spring replacement?

My brake pedal return spring decided it no longer wanted to stay attached to my truck, and fell off at some point during my long drive home with it. I'm getting ready to go to Lowe's and try to get a replacement, but I figured I'd ask if theres anything I need to know other than the length? I...

New Deuce owner from Eastern PA

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'll look into the restrictions again for historic tags, but I plan on driving this quite a bit so I'm not sure I can pull that off. I can do my own state inspections (work for a Toyota dealer), but our shop can only inspect 17,000 pounds or less. And I don't...

New Deuce owner from Eastern PA

Figured I'd add a few pictures from the eBay auction.

New Deuce owner from Eastern PA

Antique plates (30+ years old) I think are exempt from state inspections here, but you can't drive at night or in the rain with them. Classic plates (20-29 years) still need state inspections, but I don't think I can get a weight class sticker to tow or haul with them. So I was figuring on...

New Deuce owner from Eastern PA

Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought a bobbed Deuce off ebay from someone who said he was a member here. I'm from eastern PA, Catasauqua to be specific (near Allentown/Bethlehem). I haven't picked it up yet, but I hope to be making the drive from North Carolina back...
