What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

LOL Very observant. Yeah Idk. Same story, they didn't come with the truck. I took the tailgate of my 79 suburban awhile back and i don't remember there being any special trick to it. Of course I was parting it out and didn't have to deal with re-installation. So that may be where people give up...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Got my tailgate window up after being stuck halfway down for 7 months due to sheared lock cylinder. Just removed the crank assembly and cranked the regulator up manually.

Thanks. Just been busy and nothing really much to report. Been my Daily Driver since I bought her. And now that things are starting to wear out I'll have more to post about as I repair, replace and improve things. Harmonic Balance, Vacuum Pump, Both Alternators, Sheetmetal work etc etc. I've...

    My M1009

Thanks Dave. I've already have a radio table (Although mine doesn't have the sheet metal top. Was that typical?) but don't have it installed because my back seat is always full of kids. Free is a fair price LOL , I've seen them go for $75 - $125. Thanks anyways.

    Desert Camo M1009 Rolling Coal

Check out the pattern on this M1009 towing a Humvee. Is it an actual pattern or just the old Woodland camo coming through? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-Hxvt-PdHI&index=4&list=UUCEyFnfKPtLyPpfk3KGPgkw

    A lil confussed

The "Battery Booster" resistors are used to balance the draw across both batteries and step down the voltage to the 12VDC range. It's not exactly 12VDC because it depends on a few things; the voltage level of your batteries, the resistances of your glow plugs(which changes as they heat up) and...

M1009 with 3/4 ton axles towing capacity?

Stranger 75 I may have talked to you before. I'm doing this EXACT same swap. Same donor and all. Mine has the bigger brakes My question for you is are you planning on swapping over the rear spring packs from the Burb? In my mind this is where the lion's share of the towing weight capacity is...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

My little buddy and I held another Weekend Working Party on the 09 chassis. We reclaimed another 10 gallons of diesel with still an inch or so left in the tank but it was now light enough for us to drop the tank and skid plate. We didn't get as much done as we wanted due to time. But next...

@Mike68 ~ Thanks!! @HighplainsPrepper ~ Nice, kinda like a MOLLE rack for vehicles. I dig it!! @Cameron8757 ~ Can you give some specifics on your axle swap? For instance what year axles and any difficulties you ran into during the swap such as capatibility issues? I about to do the same...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Starting stripping down my M1009 chassis with the help of my little helper. We got the hydro-boost, power steering, and steering box drained and removed as well as all the forward plumbing all stripped and tagged for ease of ID. So far we recovered 10 gallons of JP8 out of the fuel system and we...

    My M1009

@ TopGun217 ~ No sweat brother. No one mad over here. I figure every kind of records are subject to inaccuracies. I did see that Camp Perry had a Organization Maintenence Shop #10 and considering the proxixty to Clyde that it might be the same unit. What type of unit is a Organizational...

Thanks everybody for the compliments. Wish I could take credit but A3superduece did all the work as far mechanical, body and paint. Pretty talented guy with a welder and is currently building/finishing a COMBATT truck. My 09 is not perfect and has some spots that'll need attention but for right...
