Right on. The rubber ones just crack, let the grease out and it does get old. The only off roading I do with this truck is going through the snow and with the guards on there I would thing I am pretty safe with the silicone boots.

I have used mine for: hauling wood, scrap metals, hauling smaller cars (for crushing and demolition derbies) pulling out vehicles including trtacktors and bobcats, sober cabs for drunken people who dont want to drive, tipping over trees, blazing trails, photos for people who want pictures...

Front shocks on a straight axle truck help hold the tires down on the ground. They will cause chopping. I am going to try a set of shocks myself.

I have my m35a2 with farm plates at 26,000. I also have my 109a3 at personal collectors plates. The only problems i have had is with the the farm plate being in the back window.

I have always done the boots with an extra guy (spare set of eyes on the other half of the boot). It only gets easier and easier. Next set will be slicone.

When i bought mine she had no idea it just showed up, the second one did too with a trailer. She never said anything to the affect of a 5 ton though!

recovered 2 chevy pickups, 1 ford pickup and a explorer. the explorer fell off the minimal maint. road into a creek, and the others were used as anchors for me after i got them able to move.

I run a 4-53 Detroit in my car hauler which is a little lighter than my duece (about 12,500 pounds). I personally think i would stay with the multifuel motor. Granted the Detroit has a turbo and a supercharger and does 18 to the gallon, i think it would be underpowered for a deuce. Just my opinion.

I just called around and these are not available through parts stores like napa. They are available through heavy truck repair shops like Mack, Freightliner, ect.

Capriceii, i do believe thats what they are called. I would think any medium duty to heavy duty truck repair shop would have them. I guess i have never checked at napa.
