M135/211 front axles reverse rotation ?

I was reading some older post (2007) about the M135 M211 series trucks having odd/reverse rotation on the front axles. Can anyone confirm what needs to be done to allow use with a current transfercase? Most differential carriers (chunks) can be put in either way, and when installed backward...

Anyone know of a rolling M135 M211 chassis for sale in New England ?

Anybody know of a parts or rolling chassis for the M135 or M211 series truck in New England, perfer CT. I might be using the axles for a project truck. A friend has a non runing/bad trans M135 and I would hate to strip the axles out of it if there is a alternative. Thanks

    Weigh Stations

I hate to be different, but in my state the sign states "All trucks and buses must stop at weigh station", so if you blowby and they stop you, it would just be one more fine. CDL and what you use it for don't apply. (You can still overload the truck with your own firewood.) If its empty, it...

5 ton axles on a deuce?

if you turn the diff carrier in the axle housing, the rotation of the axles will be reversed, so you will have 2 speeds forward and 10 in rev.

    Deuces with Cummins?

And if you overcame those obsticales, the Cummins only turns 2100 rpm, so your top speed would be cut back. But it would be quite a truck, the engines are very common and easy to find, and then you could get a Jake brake.

    Knuckle boot question.....

It sure makes locking hubs more attractive, then all you have to worry about is rust. (Unless you do some extensive driving in 6 whl drv)

    Electrical question

Just a thought, when the volatge drops low, sometimes electrical components won't function correctly. This would be the case if the flasher was a civilian type, but I am not sure on the electronic mil type. Anyway, fix the charging system before you worry too much on other items.

    Knuckle boot question.....

Rattlehead, I too have been waiting for an answer to your question. I am not sure, but I hear there are 2 or 3 different kinds of universal type joints at the steering knuckles. I was told the best are the type that look like a typical drive shaft joint (and would imagine no external lube...

    Deuce Dumper

My M342A2 without winch has a unused front facing PTO shaft on the trans PTO, so maybe they used a standard one.

Air pack, do you have to oil it ?

That is the problem, my 1973 truck doesn't have a plug in the rear cover, the rear cover is a stamped piece that seems to make up the complete rear section of the air pac. My older truck has a cast aluminum rear cover that bolts to the back of the air pac and has a plug. I was concerned with...

Air pack, do you have to oil it ?

Long before I got a deuce I read a article that stated you have to remove a 1/8" pipe plug on the air cylinder side of the air pack and add some kind of oil. My older truck has this plug, but the A2 doesn't, DID THEY DO AWAY WITH THIS OR IS THERE A DIFFERENT AREA TO FILL IT ?

Also, I mentioned it in another post, but the 1C engine has 140 HP, I don't know if they rated the dumps with more ???? Waiting to hear from others.

    Just bought my M342A2

trunion bracket can just be seen to the right on 1st pic, notice the downward angle as compared to a M35 that is straight up/down.

    Just bought my M342A2

Thanks everyone! The specs as far as I have seen on the ones I looked at are 25500 lbs for none winch and 26165 for winch models. The capacity is the same however the truck is built different. It has a double frame that ends at the rear trunion bracket and the rear trunion bracket is about...
