Well, better late than never, we have a final date and place for the 2014 Rocky Mountain MV Rally.
The Military Vehicle Collectors of Colorado will be hosting the 2014 Rocky Mountain MV Rally the weekend of July 25th-27th. The rally will be located at Wilderness on Wheels which is located 4...
Good point, "top speed" in these things should be thought of in terms of sustainable RPMs, regardless of fuel setting or actual ground speed.
The sticker on the tach (if you have it) will say 2700 RPMs is your red line. But that is really your maximum rev limit, not your maximum hold @ RPM...
let me beat the search nazis to it: This has been covered repeatedly in threads, please use the search option on the top right of the site.
That said, yea, that might be a _little_ slow but its basically in the range for the top speed of an M35A2 on 9.00s. I think 55ish was my top speed on a...

My M35A2 "Thing1" w/ M105. I rigged up a stereo in the M105 and the rest of the unit was sick of "Some Say The Devil Is Dead" by the end of the parade, but the crowd seemed to like it...

Any one have any suggestions for where to pick one capable of these ft/lbs up for a _reasonable_ amount? I've had several mild heart attacks at the prices I've seen for any torque wrench capable of more than 400ft/lbs...
Welcome from an in-stater and thank you for your service.
Unfortunately the vehicle pickings at Ft Carson are slim to none. so if you want to go the GL route you will almost definitely be forced to recover from out of state like your buddy was.
Best of luck and I'm jealous. More of the Elk...
I get your point, really I do.
But the only way this truck gets sold is by bankruptcy court order or when it is completely unrepairable. My girls would _kill_ me if I sold it. Even my wife likes it (but wont admit that in public). The quad bunk for the girls with double bed for the misses...
The main goal is to not just fix the transmission but have it (and the truck) be reliable. I picked the vehicle up with the idea of making yet another RV109 to take my girls camping and to over night events with the club here.
I'll make a run at diagnosing the current tranny first, but I'm...
Actually yes I would be. I'll be honest, I am more inclined to swap for something else. But the overriding goal is to get the truck operational without breaking the bank. If that means fixing the Allison then so be it...
I'm looking for advice, suggestions, examples of similar work, etc. Your help is greatly appreciated.
So, I have an M109A4 with a frozen transmission. (yes I know A3s suck, I agree, moving on now...)
My issue: If the engine is running the transmission locks up, meaning the output shaft to...
Now on to the repair caused by my stupidity: A Master Cylinder Replacement. I wont go over everything because the TM (TM9-2320-386-24-1-1) covers it perfectly and I basically followed it step for step. But there was a trick or two picked up from suggestions of folks on here that I'd like to...
