    M6A1 stateside survivor resto research

A couple of years ago I "purchased" an75% original John Woods M6a1. Data plate but no brakets. Story told it was salvaged off of little known WWII base here on the treasure coast of Fl. Starting resto, but was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how I might come by linking said hand cart...

    Steel tubing

If its the actual receiver channel you need then tractor supply/ northern tool/summit all have the parts. For the body of the hitch you can then weld most any tubing to it with proper design or gusseting. I have placed receiver channels into many farm/garage made bumpers and have had no...

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

I personally like the story of him claiming he was cheated of a medal by the Olympics since they did not score a keyhole shot. Though the 1916 story is one of my favorites too. That all said he was a very colorful man.

    Patton's Command Van Under Restoration

I think Patton might have just laughed if he was alive and saw the heads of his enemies in a gift shop. Strikes me as someone who would have asked to have those same heads put on pikes.

    Armor Plate Thickness

Automix is pretty cool stuff. I would use it and body filler to make the sheet metal attachments but still weld the frame. I would use the method shown for automobile roofs. I would stop about a 1/4" short and use body filler to complete the seam. This can then be sanded and blended and when...

    Armor Plate Thickness

I would assume you are thinking that 3/8" ply is your target thickness. Using a good plywood and maybe bolting a framework to the inside of the box I would think you could keep it pretty rigid. A 1x1 L channel would not be too intrusive.

    Armor Plate Thickness

WarrenD: Contact cement used for counter tops would be my first step. You will also find that plywood alone probably will flex too much you will need in my opinion to build an internal frame with 1" angle and fill with ply. I would start by building a simple box frame and adding diagonals to...

    Armor Plate Thickness

I would think the most economical material would be steel over ply backed with steel. Think sandwich or clad board. It would be alot of fabrication but frame with 0.5" tube and weld sheet metal to it then fill in voids and weld the back panel would make suitable armor substitutes. Benefit...

    bobbed M880/CUMMINS hybrid

Sold the old girl (jeep). Always a good time at the race track. I've heard rumors about a diesel shoot out coming. I'm following along here because I've always wanted to build a portal style axle. I drive a cummins almost every day and would like to put a 4BT in a CJ-10.

very very envious mate!!!!!! I hope that the shop works out. The pain of spending money on shop time is a great motivator. Good luck. May all your bolts come out and not snap off.
