This could be the an indicator of the air pack going bad.

Rear hub hot after replacing and repack all wheel bearings and seals

Mine did as well after installing several new ones from Erik's. I knew I had set the bearings correctly, after some time of driving they eventually broke in and now run the same temp as the others.

Hello Misfits, new guy from Tx here.

I've seen one on a used car lot in Liberty Texas for some time now. I think it's a drop-side with front winch, don't know about the C or D turbo. Liberty is about 40 west of Beaumont towards Houston.

M37 on San Antonio used car lot

Stumbled on this today, it's NOT mine. In the Stone Oak area of San Antonio is a 1954 Dodge M37 P/U for sale. The used car dealer has the "As-Is, no warranty" sign in the windshield but no price attached. A bit on the rough side but hey, it's from 1954. I didn't do a check on everything, I'm not...

San Antonio, TX Monthly MV get together!!

Had a great time seeing you guys today, wish I could have stayed longer. Got stopped by the Bexar County Sheriff at my corner fuel stop on the way home, he flagged me down just as I was leaving the pump. Super nice fellow, wanted to know how he could get one :)

M35a2 horn goes off when ever it wants

Old thread but comes up in the search topic, mine started doing the same after 7 years of ownership. Pulled the steering wheel button apart and found the wire had come out of the connector under the contact. Just bouncing down the road it would honk anytime that wire touched ground inside the...

    WD40 paint refresh

My Deuce was last CARC done in 1989, once a year after spring I pressure wash it. From the 1 gallon jug of WD40 I fill a spritzer bottle and just spray it with a light mist. 10 minutes later....new truck. By the afternoon, no residue and dust doesn't stick to it. This has worked for me going on...

    Continuing brake issues.

You may find this thread helpfull; http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?82753-MY-Airpack-Rebuild-with-Photos! When I opened my Air-Pak the air piston side had a huge amount of brake fluid in it and it had lost most of it's brake effort, all is well now after rebuild.

    MY Airpack Rebuild with Photos!

I know this is an old thread but still quite valuable. I want to say thank you to the OP and all other contributors to the thread. After years of no problem operation my air-pak finally took a dive. This thread gave me the info I needed to get the job done. I got the kit from Erik's and did the...

The Ever so common "Do I need a CDL" thread

. Yes, yes yes! Definitions of what is "Commercial" and what a class B will cover vary from each state. Also the titled weight on an "antique" truck with a certified scale ticket can change the equation. M923A2 with super singles comes in at 22,000 lbs, under the 26,001 lbs legal limit. I know...

    923a2 alternator problems

The pulleys are still available new from Cummins. Chances are the alternator shaft is chewed up and shot due to a loose pulley which ate up the keyway. There is a vendor that has decent prices on them but the name escapes me right this minute. I'm sure someone will chime in. Found it...

first 5 ton m931, will take advice!

Thanks for the follow up report, so many times threads end when the problem gets fixed but the OP never posts. Makes the "search" a pain when you chase dead ends, congrats on your success.

Lord help me I've become a Goat Herder

That's neat stuff Mark. I had a buddy at the railroad 25+ years ago that had one he would drive to work...when things got slow in the yard he would drive it accross all the yard tracks just for giggles, brings back fun memories.

oil leaking from front of cylinder head

Mine has the same issue...for the last five years. Runs like a champ, no crossover leaks to or from coolant. Old style fire ring head gaskets, hasn't bothered me enough to do the change and may not ever.
