    canadian five quarter

Can't really tell from the photo, but that MIGHT be the full-auto C2, a squad automatic weapon with a heavy barrel and bipod. It was issued with the 30-round magazine as a regular thing. (I preferred the Bren, but they didn't ask me!)

    GKN Wheels???

Yep, many thanks. I must have missed it when first posted. I went to their website...quite different and interesting. I didn't see any actual listing of merchandise, so I reckon I'll do as you suggested and give 'em a call. It sure seems they can do just about anything. bjsmith, thank you...

I'm not aware of this outfit. If you can supply some contact data, I'd be grateful. B

    GKN Wheels???

Howdy, group...and happy New Year! I started this thread last August, and STILL have not located a dealer to sell me a GKN wheel to match the four on my bobbed Deuce. So, I have a question. Do y'all think I can get away with using a Goodyear 14.00-20 tire as a SPARE ONLY on a stock Deuce...

    Deuce Tailgate Crane

My bobbed 35A2 has that same Harbor Freight crane mounted at the right-rear corner of the bed. The FIRST time I tried to lift the spare off the ground (1400-20 Michelin) the "winch" simply gave up. First, the handle is too short to give sufficient leverage, and second, the winch parts began...

    rain water in exhaust

To be really cool about this, there are warning streamers available from aviation sources. Google "remove before starting engine streamer" ...there are several available, and they're not expensive. These are about 24" long and bright red. Attach the streamer to whatever cover is used to...

Engine ID Location (or identifying features)

Many thanks. That starter location is a very simple identifier, and it indicates that mine is an LDT. There are no tags anywhere around the water pump.

Engine ID Location (or identifying features)

In deference to all those folks who say, "SEARCH!", I've spent the last couple hours on "Search",trying to resolve these questions: 1. Where are the engine identification tags normally found? I've seen plenty of photos of the tags on engines, but I'm darned if I can find any such tags on...

    5 ton wheels on 2 1/2?

"search (dummy)" I'm very new here at SS, but I'm NOT new to Internet hobby sites in general. In my short time here, I have become VERY cognizant of the members who instantly say "SEARCH ! SEARCH!" whenever some unfortunate soul asks what seems (to him, at least) to be a reasonable question...

    GKN Wheels???

" I think I know someone with an A3 rim if you want to get something close to what you have." That would be very nice indeed (as long as the price is reasonable, natch). I'm not as concerned about having the exact same "style" wheel for the spare as I am about getting a wheel with similar...

    GKN Wheels???

I've been to the OD Iron website a number of times. Without a doubt, that is the MOST USELESS website that I've ever had occasion to visit. WHAT wheels at OD Iron? I just searched the place, and there is not one single wheel to be found. Are they trying to hide them? They apparently don't...

    GKN Wheels???

Well, I'll be jiggered...it actually worked! These were taken just after the request for photos, so...about 3/4 hour back? The angle of the sun was fairly-low, as can be seen in the photos, but it may have helped reveal some detail....maybe. My wife does good work!

    GKN Wheels???

Okay....purely thanks to my wife's expertise. I have a couple photos of the wheels which we'll try to get posted here. stand by.....

    GKN Wheels???

A word of explanation: My bobbed Deuce arrived recently with four wheels (mounting 1400-20 Michelins), and no spare. A friend delivered a 1400-20 tire on a standard Deuce split rim from Dollarman for interim spare duty....not ideal, I know, especially with that fat tire. (That tire is...

    Insurance problem!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I've neglected to keep y'all updated. At this time we still don't have insurance, but we do have some options to be considered. Country Insurance carries our homeowner policy, and they are willing to insure the deuce IF we transfer our six other vehicles to their company's coverage...

    Understanding Deuces

[QUOTE. "Reading the manuals for the truck helps a lot. So will going to the deuce forum, clicking the "oldest" button on the page listings and reading everything between then and now." Amen and Amen! As a newbie to the military trucks, I just bought a bobbed Deuce in almost complete...

    Parking Brake VANISHED

Thanks again. I started this thread toward the end of last night's shift, and slept all day. Now I'm back at work, and very grateful for the responses. A picture truly IS "worth a thousand words." Looking at that parking-brake assembly, I can see that I'm going to have some difficult...

    Parking Brake VANISHED

G'day, gents. On inspecting my "new" ('71 M35A2) Deuce, i find that the parking brake essentially doesn't exist. I have the handle in the cab, and the brake drum underneath, and NOTHING in between. No linkages, no shoes, no mounts for the shoes....nada. I checked the TMs to see what's...

    What Manufacturer??? "VOLVO???"

    1. We live just outside Winnemucca. 2. My so-called "computer skills" don't extend to posting pictures. However, there are excellent pics still posted on eBay | Electronics, Cars, Clothing, Collectibles and More Online Shopping and you can see them by searching there for 330579360428...

    What Manufacturer??? "VOLVO???"

Yep, the data plate is there as stated. " It says: "MFD BY: DAAP06701000-01 I believe this is the "contract number"? The upper line on the plate has the VIN, 04H9767105391xxxx. Again, thanks for the input. B
